She was lovely.
Led a very interesting life .

Sadgrandma Sun 28-Dec-25 11:02:51

I missed hearing that she had died. She was beautiful and did a lot of work with rescue animals.

TerriBull Sun 28-Dec-25 11:06:11

An amazingly beautiful style icon. A one off, she wore the original "just got out of bed hair effortlessly" France will mourn one of their greatest stars.

RIP Brigitte.

She was utterly gorgeous and French with it adding an extra layer of style back in the day. I used to love her hair and eyeliner.

Hiraeth Sun 28-Dec-25 11:09:32

That is sad though she lived a good life. Gorgeous lady.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 28-Dec-25 11:22:42

RIP

She gave her name to a neckline and popularised long bleached hair in a pony tail. But there was a lot more to her than that. RIP.

Dylis Sun 28-Dec-25 11:31:53

Beautiful woman.
BBC report on her life seems to depict her as a racist!

After seeing dancing bears in Bulgaria we visited the Belitsa rescue centre which is jointly run by Bridget’s charity and the four paws charity.

Smileless2012 Sun 28-Dec-25 12:37:05

A beautiful woman, inside and out RIP flowers.

Calendargirl Sun 28-Dec-25 12:40:32

She was stunning, back in the day.

The tousled hair, the full, pouting lips, the eyes….

I think every man must have fancied her, and many women wished they could look like her.

Chardy Sun 28-Dec-25 12:46:45

Unfortunately Bardot was convicted in 1997, 1998 and 2000 for inciting racial hatred. She was criticised in later years for homophobic slurs.
But she was a world leader in championing animal protection.
She liked animals more than humans?

Goodness I didn’t know that about her being homophobic and racist Not such a nice woman after all
Much good work with animals but afraid that won’t make it up for me
Anyway she’s a good age, so her times up

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 28-Dec-25 13:39:24

She said there were too many mosques in France. Not compatible with the French way of life. Got fined for saying so, several times.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 28-Dec-25 13:48:34

When she was on Desert Island Discs Roy Plomley asked for her next choice. She said in her fabulous French accent "A penis".

No, no, spluttered Roy....we'll come to your luxury item later. "No, 'appiness, by Ken Dodd!" explained Brigitte.

Esmay Sun 28-Dec-25 14:13:39

I think that Bardot started the long bed hair and the pouty sexy look before anyone else. .
I admired her devotion to animals ,but what a shame that her attitude to her only child was so cruel.

A beautiful woman, inside and out RIP flowers.

Didn't bring her own child up, likened him to a tumour and said she'd have preferred him to be a dog. She was beautiful outside, not so much inside.

Also 2008. Her son also took her to court about what she'd written about him in her autobiography.

Visgir1 Sun 28-Dec-25 16:38:11

I didn't know much about her, but just read her Obituary in The Sunday Times on line..
She was without doubt a Beautiful younger woman.
From age 40 she was champion of Animals but she was a racist, homophobic an awful Mother to a Son she wanted aborted.

Grammaretto Sun 28-Dec-25 19:16:00

She was very pretty. I used to draw her profile over and over in my doodle book.
I suspect she was forced to be a sex bomb from an early age.
Picasso painted her, she married Roger Vadim.

I thought she had retired to spend her life saving animals a long time ago.

RIP
