Trump Claims Publication Of Files Absolves Him of Wrongdoing?

But, in order to claim absolution, one has to admit to having committed an act considered a sin (and therefore requiring forgiveness) in the first place.

I therefore consider Trump's absolution boast as a full admission of guilt due to activities committed in his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.

Well he would, wouldn't he?

Mandy Rice-Davies famous quote still holds good for the male slimeballs.

I think you are playing with semantics here. Trump is not known for the precision of his word choices. He probably has no idea of the meaning of ‘absolution.

Of course, a more accurate (though probably untrue) word would be ‘cleared’ of wrongdoing.

But, whatever words he uses, he’s far from cleared; we have no idea what has been redacted or held back…

Trump has been photographed with Epstein and for a man who said he likes to "grab pussy" he could be involved.
The heavily redacted files tell their own story.

His name comes up 38,000 times across 5,300 documents.

When your life is based on lies what is one more lie?

imaround Sat 07-Feb-26 04:20:07

He is delusional.

Maremia Sat 07-Feb-26 10:37:09

He has dementia, and will not get better.

Smileless2012 Sat 07-Feb-26 10:40:10

On top of everything else that's wrong with Trump he also appears to have dementia but that has no bearing on his relationship with Epstein.

Oreo Sat 07-Feb-26 11:00:11

I agree that he likely means cleared of wrongdoing.
Now has he got dementia or hasn’t he? If he has then nobody could blame him for anything he does or says right now, but they do don’t they? Including very much on this very forum.
I don’t think he has tbh as I work with dementia patients and allI can say is that at the worst he may have the beginnings of it but even that’s very unsure.

Oreo Sat 07-Feb-26 11:01:21

He just does what he wants and likely always has done.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 07-Feb-26 11:14:56

38000 times minimum - Trump mentioned in the files. He is not absolved.

A very interesting podcast TRIPUSA - looking at the level of Russian connection with Epstein and potential agents. I think is something that is going to run in future.

Time and again we come across Russian connections with our elites. We know Windsor and Mandelson were connected with Russians through Epstein. We know that Johnson and Farage were/is also connected.

Listening to the KGB text book about how to interfere into nation states politics - I think it is becoming much clearer, and these connections by these elites must be looked at very carefully.

Here we go again - Trump bashing. It seems to be the main topic on everyone's mind. Here we have grooming gangs still not properly investigated, and we have a royal family, the king and his brother, closely involved with two highly active paedophiles. Among many other crucial topics that I could mention. But let's not ask disturbing questions, let's carry on having a go at our pantomime villain.

This thread is about Trump.

If anyone wants to discuss something else then best to start a new one on the subject.

Agreed.

Im certain Trump has used his influence to smother many things about himself - he has the money, power and influence to do that. Look at what he is getting away with in his country and across the globe every day. He is fully corrupt but he doesn’t work alone - he has all his support around him.
Anybody that admires Trump is utterly shameless and morally bankrupt. We have politicians in the UK copying him and people seem blissfully ignorant of that. Heaven help us all if we get a mini Trump here.
He may or may not have dementia, but he has never been a good moral person. He values one thing - money - and it’s his money he values most.

Cossy Sat 07-Feb-26 14:49:15

I w got to the point, wrongly or rightly, where I simply do not believe a single word Trump spouts.

His concept of right and wrong, simply don’t match anything that I recognise as true, moral or legal.

I don’t bother listening to him at all.

Sadly, the biggest issue with Trump is that he does open his mouth before engaging his brain. His team does not seem to include an decent speech writers or marketing folks.

BUT the whole Epstein affair seems to be about hiding the senior US folks and picking out the foreign targets

Agrée. He’s not demented, not ‘mad’ - he’s bad.

David49 Sat 07-Feb-26 15:09:53

"BUT the whole Epstein affair seems to be about hiding the senior US folks and picking out the foreign targets"

Plenty of US targets being named, Epstein had wormed his way into the finances of many billionaires, thats how he made his money. There has been a lot of activity disassociating those involved, from their companies, since Epsteins "suicide"

Delene100 Sat 07-Feb-26 15:16:49

Seeing that Epstein lived in America, isn't it strange that only two British people are being noted and rightly ostracised for associating with Epstein? Where are the Americans? If Trump has nothing to hide why doesn't he publish information on himself in those files? I smell BS here.

Delene100 Sat 07-Feb-26 15:21:38

I agree. Where are the Americans in all this?

AGAA4 Sat 07-Feb-26 15:24:29

Focusing on Mandelson and AMW takes the heat off the those men in the US who are being protected but have been involved with Epstein.

You would think that the two British men were the only ones who are guilty. It's about time those in the US were rooted out and faced the consequences.
