I'd feel happier if I knew that there would be some real Karma for these people but I think they will resign now but still be making their vast fortunes somewhere. It seems like a different world for them compared to us.

Trump Claims Publication Of Files Absolves Him of Wrongdoing?
(150 Posts)But, in order to claim absolution, one has to admit to having committed an act considered a sin (and therefore requiring forgiveness) in the first place.
I therefore consider Trump's absolution boast as a full admission of guilt due to activities committed in his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.

Interesting how political affiliations are obvious in certain replies. All the Reformers dismissing Trump and focusing instead in grooming gangs.
Why might that be I wonder?😳
Que ? I thought we were discussing Trump. Bizarre comment.

Here we go again - Trump bashing. It seems to be the main topic on everyone's mind. Here we have grooming gangs still not properly investigated, and we have a royal family, the king and his brother, closely involved with two highly active paedophiles. Among many other crucial topics that I could mention. But let's not ask disturbing questions, let's carry on having a go at our pantomime villain.
Well as an American I can rest assure you that Trump is NO pantomime villain . He is the real deal.
He is a convicted felon on 34 counts.
He is a convicted sexual offender.
He is dismantling anything that does not enrich himself and his billionnare donors.
The latest crime is rolling back important environmental restrictions on clean air giving businesses the right to pollute EVERYONE’S CLEAN AIR.
The list goes on and on !
He is no pantomime Gillian he is the real deal and it is no laughing matter!!
I completely agree! He is the POTUS- not a used car salesman.
However, he does claim that he's only doing what the votes wanted, and to a certain extent he's right. They had a choice.
Would you buy a used car from Trump?

Would you buy a used car from Trump?
Not in a million years, I wouldn't buy one off any other politician either.
Trump bashing - he seems to be the one doing all the bashing. Any person or organisation that criticises him is immediately sacked or blacklisted.
Absolutely Eloethan.
I thought at first that 'Trump derangement syndrome' was actually referring to his medical diagnosis.
It makes more sense, that way.

My mind might make quantum leaps and work in a mysterious way I agree. Leave me to my own little bizarre world plesse…it makes sense to me!
Follow the money.
Les Wexner funded Epstein to the tune of $1 billion. He, of course, denies any wrongdoing.
I am sure there will be more to come out as more people dig through the files.

I did research the Wexners about 10 days ago because the have a country estate on the Cotswolds which they use as a shooting lodge. Because it's so close I was interested to see if there was any connection to Epstein, AMW or wild parties etc, I couldn't find any and there hasn't been any local gossip about it either.
It looks like Wexner has been a victim, Epstein defrauded him out of many millions while he was a trusted advisor, that's a risk many wealthy get caught by, they want to enjoy their wealth so allow others to manage money.
Expecting fallout due to Epstein, Wexners businesses have been restructured, the main money maker Victorias Secret was split off to separate ownership in 2019, L Brands was reinvented as Bath and Body Works and continues.
The association with Epstein may well have cost them £1bn and a great deal of reputational damage.
He is up to his orange neck in the whole sordid business.
I don’t see dementia as the key issue, if Trump has age related memory issues that wouldn’t be a surprise (I expect most of us could admit to not being as sharp as we were)
It’s his personality. He’s a narcissist who lies, always has been and it won’t change. He’s even more of a threat as Potus

Not quite the story reported here. 🤔
The FBI have tried to investigate Wexner for years.

The FBI and CIA have been looking at the Wexners and many others over the years they didn't find anything wrong and currently they still can't. He has been cooperating with police since 2019
I don’t believe that is the case David49, because until the Epstein files releases a huge amount of information was either unknown or suppressed by the authorities. The FBI, CIA and whoever are not beyond reproach, no body is in this as it appears at present. There is still so much being withheld, it could be years until all the wrongdoings are exposed.
I think we are going to learn more about Wexner in the coming weeks. He is considered a co-conspirator by the DOJ at this time. I am most concerned that he reported no one from the DOJ ever contacted him for an interview.
Looks like one of the Hyatt Hotel heirs had to resign as well.

It took ages for the files to be released, and then heavily redacted. Also, I think a commentator stated that only around 50% of the files have been released.
It seems rather convenient that it is primarily British people on whom the spotlight has fallen - much as they deserve it. Very little mention has been made of US and other persons. Though Clinton has been mentioned (not much of a shock there, given his previous behaviour), little has been made of it. Noam Chomsky has been implicated, though I don't know the details. He is well known for his politically non-conformist, left-leaning commentaries and books. Seems a bit convenient to me that only certain people have had the full glare of the media on them.
These are my thoughts exactly. Delaying publication of the Epstein files gave Trump the opportunity to redact any negative mention of him. Whilst also leaving the victims names unredacted …. you can see where the Republicans priority lies.
And where is the remaining 50% of the files?
The US needs to hold accountability for their involvement in this fiasco.

You are probably correct but until evidence is found of wrongdoing Wexner is innocent. So far he's answered questions satisfactorily and if needed he has the money to fight any court action, or indeed any media or official libel
AMW is the opposite he isn't cooperating and there are many holes in his story yet to be explained
Furret I do have to point out that you were not the first Poster on this Thread to mention grooming gangs.
David, is that the latest on AMW that he is not co-operating?
Would we know that already?

As far as the trafficking and sex allegations I haven't heard that he is cooperating, he is refusing to comment.

Yesterday when he was arrested without warning with unexpected allegations his lawyer may well have advised him to say "no comment" to many points.
His lawyers will look at the evidence presented and advise him what go do, as evidence is still being uncovered it could be months before any charges are made
I know off topic, but we are celebrating the SC telling him his tariffs are unconstitutional. Too bad we won't get a single dime of that money back.
