The stupidity of Netanyahu and Trump

Either Netanyahu and Trump are stupid , or they are mad.

Was Hitler mad or stupid? Are some forms of stupidity a sort of madness?

Trump’s dementia is now impacting upon the whole world, possibly starting WW3, he seriously needs the staff in white coats to lead him away before any more damage is done and lives are lost.
If he is not on meds he needs to be.

What needs to happen for the Republicans or the Military to stand up to him

Trump seems to enjoy causing chaos and distress to others. Firstly tariffs now a needless war.
How many families are going to lose loved ones because of this war?

I really feel for those families, with victims in several countries now, and counting.
My guess is that Trump is a sadistic bully who enjoys inflicting pain if he doesn’t get his own way.
And I feel so sorry for the Iranian people. Took some soup round to an Iranian family who live near us. They don’t think anything will come of this war and can’t reach their loved ones who all live in Tehran, they certainly weren’t out celebrating.

But who can stop them doing this or moving on to the next target??
At the moment the safety of millions in the ME are at risk, including Israel, but we should not be naive enough to believe this won’t affect all of us, it will.
And the promised outcome of liberating the Iranian people is imho a cruel taunt, because Trump has since said it is to defend Israel/about anti Iran’s nuclear capability.
So I ask again who can stop Trump or Netanyahu??
And why, in light of this do we see Putin as the bad guy??
Looks like the whole world has a US problem that puts Putin in the shade.

Russian and Iran have been allies for years. I wonder if Trump sees Iran as a soft target and a way to disrupt Putin's regime. Is he that intelligent, or stupid?
Either way it doesn't make Putin a good guy.
Trump has always said he admires Putin- so maybe he's showing him what they are capable of?
I wish I knew, but it is the ordinary people of Iran who have my sympathies here- maybe they are exchanging one tyrant for another?
It's very frightening indeed- thanks America, you elected the wrong leader when you could have made another choice. The people of Iran haven't had that choice.

Democracy is not a crazy game.

Think they are fighting against an islamist Hitler, a regime whose one aim, along with Hamas and Hezbollah is to destroy Israel. Never mind their own people who they have massacred, according to some reports "upward of 36, ,000, the largest massacre in Irans modern history ".
So good to see happy Iranians, women chucking off their bandage, and so disgusted to see that Muslim deputy of the Greens, side with the mad mullah. Not pleased that Iranians may have the chance to rule themslves. So angry that starmer has not proscribed the IRG as terrorists. Unlike most civilised western countries which have. Mealy mouthed u turn on using UK bases, as for squawking corbyn and Thornbury, they really think the ayatollah would have responded to diplomacy, not they wouldn't, the same as Hitler wouldn't.

I wonder what it feels like to sit, safe in your huge, opulent office, ordering the destruction of people thousands of miles away, as if it's just a computer game?
Does it appeal to his ego?

He was golfing at Maralago this weekend. He then said that "sadly, there will be more", when asked about the deaths of the soldiers.

The man is a menace to the world.

Gummie Mon 02-Mar-26 16:43:19

They are both evil.

When he said ^that's the way it is ^in relation to the distinct possibility that more American service men and women will die, my blood ran cold imaround. He simply doesn't care does he.

He spoke as though referring to a minor disappointment not devastating loss of life.

Well the way he has disparaged those in the armed services in the US calling them chumps and disrespected the armed services in Europe/the UK, it doesn’t surprise me, Mr. Draft Dodger must see them as fodder for the enemy to do what they will with them.

Maremia Mon 02-Mar-26 17:17:54

The Italian Prime Minister has openly expressed her disapproval of the attack.

Smileless2012 Mon 02-Mar-26 17:24:05

He's a despicable excuse for a human being Fallingstar and Starmer should have taken into account Trump's disparaging remarks about the UK and European armed forces and refused his demand request.

Wyllow3 Mon 02-Mar-26 17:42:48

You OK with 153 dead reported today after the strike on one school, Freya?

Was that a "yes"?

Does one evil on innocents by a tyrant justify another tyrant coming into "save" them, by killing yet more? (who is possibly only acting now as the mid terms loom)

now let me get my head round that as the numbers mount up....

valdavi Mon 02-Mar-26 17:54:22

If only the Nobel committee had swallowed their sensibilities & given Trump that nice shiny peace prize he coveted - don't think he'd be doing this as he wouldn't want to lose his reputation as "I'm the greatest peacemaker the world has ever seen".
The man's a menace & much as I'm sorry for individuals in the US who have to put up with his behaviour, it is a democracy & somehow he got voted in & those Trump voters were stupid too.
I think Netanyahu's evil, not particularly stupid

Anniebach Mon 02-Mar-26 17:55:17

Agree Freya

Wyllow the Holocaust is denied, so the number of dead you speak of is true ?

Maremia Mon 02-Mar-26 18:08:54

Who has denied the Holocaust?
That comment needs to be removed asap.

Here's an example of Trump stupidity. Iran has a multitude of talented hackers, which have been used in ransomware attacks in the West.
The agency in the USA that counters these attacks is currently short staffed because of 'funding' issues.
As this USA/Israel attack was planned in advance, shouldn't this counter hacking agency have been beefed up to cope.

Starmer has criticised the US saying the UK does not believe in regime change from the skies.

AGAA4 Mon 02-Mar-26 19:14:13

Only one in four Americans backs the war in Iran. Reuters poll.
I think Trump may find a way to get out of it soon.

Starmer has criticised the US saying the UK does not believe in regime change from the skies.

I would have preferred him to say that the UK didn't believe in regime change (at all).

We've all lived for long enough, surely to know that 'regime change' by military intervention has a tendency to cause more problems than it 'solves'.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 02-Mar-26 20:47:45

Our regime change in Iraq can be absolutely linked to Iran's power.

There is always unintended consequences.

This will be no different. But regime change is by no means certain in such an established, concentrated and powerful theocracy.

Wyllow3 Mon 02-Mar-26 20:48:57

I think Starmer was saying that, since surely he was suggesting regime change by any military means was not good, but this time its been from the skies.
