This war was not started for altruistic reasons. Saving the people of Iran was not on the agenda for Trump or Netanyahu. They only do things that benefit themselves.

There’s more chance of regime change now than ever before. Israel for example has vowed to take out each new Iranian government and it looks as though they have the technology to do this.

The US and Israel's combined forces have failed to change the regime in Iran. All they have achieved is more lives lost and homeless people apart from the wider problems we all face.

The regime in Iran will be even more resolute now so this act of aggression has failed. Trump has always believed that "might is right". In this situation it was definitely wrong.

There is little point in talking about regime change at present, however desirable we all might find it.

Iran’s regime is at present totally embedded, and although it is supported probably only by between 20-30% of the population, it holds all the cards in as much it entirely controls the military and the economy as well of the social infrastructure etc, so those Iranians who long for change - it must not be forgotten that change does not mean to something more amenable to the west and certainly not Israel.

I think that Netanyahu understands this and so his goal is simply to degrade Irans military power so that it is no longer a threat to Israel. Netanyahu has no wish to “save”the Iranians from their oppressors.

Trump doesn’t know what he wants, except of course the chance to further enrich the Trump dynasty.

Is there ronib? I would hazard a guess that there are a number of future leadership scenarios that are possible, and some of them will not be better than the current regime, which in any case shows no signs at all of falling so far.

If Israel can continue to target successive unelected Iranian leaders, I would not discount Iranian regime change. This is the first time that this technology has been used and to great effect. Time will tell.

I don’t expect any of us would want to live under the awful regime in Iran. Many Iranians want regime change but many do not. Bombing people into regime change has never succeeded. It’s always created instability. Civil war in Iran?

Who gave Israel the right to bomb civilians as a means of regime change. How is this illegal war meant to help innocent Iranians trying to stay alive?

I have listened to a number of podcasts and read a number of different mainstream newspapers and no one thinks that this war will lead to regime change. At worst it will end in civil war, at best there will be some negotiations which give Iran something they want in return for opening the Strait of Hormuz. We will be fortunate if this mess doesn't escalate even further and completely mess up the world economy. The attack on Kharg was completely stupid, Trump's denying that he was told about it and Israel is saying he was, doesn't this bode well for future negotiations? It is an absolute mess and ATM all the Iranian regime has to do is survived to claim a win. What a major miscalculation!
