Guardian, March 17th: we missed this at the time:
Newly unearthed Nigel Farage videos reveal support for rioter, neo-Nazi event and far-right slogans

nanna8 "I have never seen anything antisemitic in any of Farage’s speeches. He concentrates on boat migrants and I have listened to most of his speeches. I don’t particularly like the man but trying to shock people into disliking him with untrue comments doesn’t help".

nanna8- the right wing media outlets here in the UK also chose not to publish Farage's Cameo video content also, though the centrist/left leaning guardian did .

It appears your Australian media outlets chose not to publish the factual content evidencing Farage’s fascist, antisemitic video content in addition. However the Guardian article link is available in this thread for you to view Farage’s fascist, antisemitic video content for yourself.

We all have different views and political allegances but I hope for UK political leaders that don't sell fascist, antisemitic videos for cash. It seems Farage has reflected and agrees that was not a good look for him also once exposed as after the Guardian published the article he "paused' his Cameo account.

Thanks for that insight Graphite.

What a sh** show😡

I share your frustration. I'm hoping, though holding my breath, the new head of Ofcom will sharpen and strengthen Ofcom's regulatory teeth and take action against Farage's broadcasting roles.

I understand that this report has been sent to Ofcom:

How GB News became Reform TV

An investigation for The New World shows how the right wing channel is being allowed to pump out Reform propaganda and drive a coach and horses through broadcasting laws. Finally, will the regulator now act?

www.thenewworld.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/03/GB-News-Dossier.pdf

The methodology for the preparation of the report is explained in its text.

I do recall that at one stage Ofcom (to which GBNews has been reported on several occasions) ruled that it was an 'entertainment channel, and so not subject to the same regulation as news broadcasts, a judgement which raised many eyebrows at the time, but I hope that a new head of Ofcom will look at it afresh.

And for those who bleat about how terrible anti semitism is but support Farage, you should really have a serious word with yourself about what the far right are all about.

👍👏👏👏👏👏👏

Sir Ian Cheshire is the incoming of com Chair replacing previous Tory Peer Lord Michael Grade. This represents a shift to a city business grandee with experience in public sector regulation and a less overtly political figure.

It's a huge role with much challenge so change won't happen overnight.

Were the stories of Jewish people who went to senior school with him not published in Australia?

Fallingstar, nanna8 frequently opines on subjects that she doesn't have full facts upon because she lives in Australia.

And do you always have the full facts when you opine about matters occurring in other lands?

If so, do enlighten us all so that we may be fully aware before we post an opinion, in case we are subjected to a pile on.

Thank you.

Everything crossed for Hungary today.

Despite Trump giving his full support to Orban, it looks as if this election will see an end to Orban’s. reign.

Are international observers being allowed ?
Can’t see the repugnant Orban giving up without a fight.

Are we allowed to comment on the affairs of a foreign country or is it against GN rules? 🤔

4:00 minutes into the Guardian clip in response to the Cameo prompt ...

“talk about how the world is going to shit and how secret societies control everything.” ...

Farage chose to say. “Is it the Bilderbergers that are running the world? It could be the Masons. Some think it’s the Rothschilds. Maybe it’s George Soros.”

The names are used in antisemitic tropes about Jewish people secretly running the world. So why did Farage chose to repeat those tropes?

Perhaps those who sees no antisemitism in what he choses to say could explain.

Basgetti Sun 12-Apr-26 11:15:21

Sorry, Allira, don’t understand?

Allira Sun 12-Apr-26 11:15:28

Correction - the Freemasons are not a Jewish organisation.

You misunderstand the remit of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.

You also misunderstand the reach of the Code of Conduct for MP's

Which part of the reach of the Code and Conduct for MPs do you claim has been misunderstood butterandjam and why?

Indeed.

The Code applies to Members in all aspects of their public life.

If MPs are tweeting publicly under their names with MP attached to it then I regard that as coming under the umbrella of their public life.

This tweeted by Rupert Lowe MP to Ed Davey MP:

You are a low IQ gnome whose talents would be better suited to fishing bits of bird shit out of a garden pond.

Sorry, Allira, don’t understand?

There is constant criticism of a poster who does not live in this country if they post an opinion about the UK.
It constitutes one pile on after another.

In contrast, there seem to be plenty of threads where posters express opinions of world events, criticise politicians in other countries and that is, of course, perfectly acceptable. So why is it not acceptable for posters from other countries to do the same? We did have posters from overseas on the boards but most have, in fact, disappeared. Now, why is that I wonder?

If someone disagrees with the views of a poster, why not say so politely instead of telling them they have no right to an opinion, that they know nothing?

I might not agree with the poster in question, but I'm not going to tell her she has no right to post because she does not live here.

No-one should be in control of the threads apart from GNHQ.

Report me if you like.

Basgetti Sun 12-Apr-26 11:35:36

Why would I report you?

My comment was because my first thought was that the fairly recent reports of Farage’s anti-Semitic behaviour had probably not been covered in the Australian press.

Please read what I said. I did NOT say I was a Farage supporter.I merely said that all the speeches he has made publicly never mentioned the Jewish people. That is true. He makes speeches almost every day, just for your information. I hold firm to that and too bad if you choose to disagree. He spends most of his time going on and on about the boat arrivals and the incompetence of the Labour government.
I am certainly not anti semitic, that is a joke and if you knew me it would be blaringly obvious. I love my son in law and his family.

I merely said that all the speeches he has made publicly never mentioned the Jewish people. That is true.

That is NOT true.

In a 2017 LBC interview, Nigel Farage discussed US political lobbies in response to a caller comparing Russian influence to others. He said: "There are about six million Jewish people living in America, so as a percentage it’s quite small, but in terms of influence it’s quite big... In terms of money and influence, yep, they are a very powerful lobby... The Jewish lobby with its link to the Israeli government is one of those strong voices.".

Alligator, of course nanna8 can comment on UK politics, however she can't say something is true when it obviously isnt. Nor should she take offence when that is pointed out
