Are you in your forever house?
Do you worry about your health?
Belfast another appalling attack, we need to ask what is driving this.
I was very saddened to read this morning of two Californian teenagers storm a mosque and shoot dead three adult males and injure one other, then leave and and shoot themselves.
They were 17 & 18 and one had “borrowed” his mother’s guns.
The mosque also incorporated a school where pupils as young of 9 were learning.
California is a Democrat held state and has a long history of all ethnicities living peacefully as neighbours.
What is our world coming to?
Attacks on our fellow humans in their places of worship, attack on our Jewish communities in this country.
All I can say is thank goodness the UK doesn’t have the same ludicrous gun laws as the USA.
May those dead RIP.
I haven’t noticed anything said by POTUS Trump, though the Governor of California and his wife have spoken.
☹️☹️😢😢

It's all so sad and so preventable. When you allow almost anyone to own a gun this will keep happening.
People going about their daily lives not harming anyone and they are murdered.
Thoughts with the families of the victims.
I watch a fair few real crime programmes from the US and there is a whole different mindset with many Americans, who see owning a gun as a deterrent in much the same way that we might look at getting a doorbell with a camera. Is amazing how many families have multiple weapons lying around the home and in the car. Quite often is another relative or burglar who will steal said guns in order to commit a crime, and there are many committed by minors under the age of 16 who take their parent’s or older sibling’s gun.
I really don’t think it is a suitable deterrent when so many times a perp will take the home owners weapon and use it against them.
Is it not true that gunshot is the major cause of death for young children in the USA?

I feel the same way about this as I do about nuclear weapons!
It’s for the US to decide on the gun question, as no matter what happens there in the many shooting incidents most people still want a gun as their right.
Each State has different gun laws, open carry, concealed carry and so on and a great deal of households keep a gun for home defence.
It’s hard for us here to understand as it’s never been our custom, thankfully.
Google suggests that the Democrats favour a change in the laws on gun control.

There must be some accidental deaths, with the level of gun ownership USA have, the inquisitiveness of children & the lethal nature of gunshot.
My SIL lives in the US she was in a business conference meeting of around 30 - all women, they were away from home discussing law and order. The question was asked who is "carrying" (a gun), all but 4! .
If the threat of harm is so great that so many women feel the need to carry a gun what hope is there of any change.
I think focusing on the guns alone while conspicuously leaving out the bigoted, hateful motivations of the savages who carried out these murders misses the mark and seems intentional
.
We are talking about a mass shooting specifically targeting Muslims and people of colour by white supremacists. Glossing over that fact is problematic in and of itself. The US has a bigotry problem and the existence of widely available gun ownership, ghastly as it is, is not the central issue here. Guns are part of the problem, but not the main one. Neo-nazis and white supremacists in that country have used actual bombs before. A New York area man was caught trying to poison Black and Jewish children. Muslims are among the top groups targeted for hate speech and threats. In all recent cases there is an extensive trail of evidence of online extremism influencing violent acts. This administration has emboldened and stoked the flames of prejudice and hatred in the US and they know it.

And generally always have. It was one of Obama's big aims that was squished.
And will continue to be squished as it’s a big turn off to a lot of voters there.
Were the two teenage perpetrators white supremacists? They also fired shots at a firm ( maybe they had worked at, or didn’t like for some reason) before they shot themselves.
So many teenagers are now influenced by what they read online it’s a tragedy for the victims, themselves and all the families involved.
But if guns weren’t so available it would be harder to carry out these kinds of killings.
As we have seen here in the UK, if people set out with murderous intent, they don't need a gun to kill.
Any weapon will do.
People kill - using guns, knives, poison, their bare hands.
It's terribly sad and worrying.
Will the human race ever live in harmony?

Were they? I don’t think it’s really a question since their affiliations and online activity answer speak for themselves. For most, the swastikas and the hate chats remove all doubt about whether the little monsters were white supremacists. Given that this info was as heavily reported in the coverage of the attack, would this be a question if the victims were Jewish?
Cars and vans and knives seem to be the favoured weapons of fanatics here and in Europe. What do we do about that?
Indeed, Valdavi, my understanding is that the majority of deaths of young children are due to accidental discharges, sometimes by siblings or visiting children.
I think most parents could see that small child + loaded gun might = a potential danger
