Great news, this entitled eejit has been found and arrested 9 years after he pushed a pedestrian under a bus.

“The 44-year-old has been detained nine years after a jogger allegedly shoved a woman into the path of an oncoming bus on Putney Bridge in west London on May 4, 2017.

CCTV footage of the incident appeared to show the runner, described as a white man in his 30s with brown eyes and short, brown hair, pushing the 33-year-old into the path of the Number 430 bus.

Oliver Salbris, the bus driver, managed to swerve and miss the woman’s head by inches, while the jogger ran on”.

I think he’s going to be in a lot of trouble, he deserves everything that coming to him.

Yes, of course the Met Police have questions to answer in this case.

Saying that is not pointing fingers or making accusations as you seem to allege.

I was interested to hear he lived in Notting Hill and not Chiswick which is where they said he lived now, so either way, he would never be doing a morning run over Putney Bridge!

If you look at Google maps you'll see that the Pusher was much more likely to live in Fulham due to the curve of the river. His morning run would have been over the bridge and turn right along the towpath (where the Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race starts) because he'd be unlikely to run up Putney High Street, much too busy. Then it seems he turned round and came back over the bridge towards Fulham.

It was a morning run, unlikely to be several miles through busy city streets, more like a warm-up before work. I'd say he lived in Fulham.

Innocent unless proved guilty?

He's so far been arrested. That's all.

Exactly so. Some of the venomous remarks on a social media site that's allegedly for mature, decent people are outrageous. If he really was innocent (his family have claimed that DNA evidence will prove it), it's no wonder he killed himself. Why do people indulge in such vicious speculation on things they know almost nothing about?

Just as a footnote and perhaps to illustrate how ineffectual the Met investigation at the time was, according to today’s Sunday Times,
In the months that followed, detectives interviewed 50 men and arrested three suspects. Police were left red-faced after one, Eric Bellquist, an investment banker, was quickly able to prove that he had been in America at the time. The investigation was closed in 2018 after the failure to charge anyone

It suggests somebody was clutching at straws rather than any hard evidence.

I would imagine they were clutching at straws because what hard evidence would there even be? I wonder how they found the 50 men, maybe people identifying someone they know from the camera footage.

I don't see why the Police should be red-faced about one suspect being in America. That is their job after all, to eliminate suspects.

I find it strange there is no more cctv footage either in Putney or Fulham as he ran home. They tell us there are cameras everywhere so let's see them.

He died a few days ago. Family said the pressure of the investigation was too much for him.

Well that was libellous for a start.
1 he was never charged
2 he did not match the description of the attacker( different er colour, tattoo on his arm, wasted calf muscles from injury while serving)
3 he was nowhere near Putney Bridge at the time
The fact that the Met did not pursue the investigation suggests to me anyway that they had very little to go on
However, mud sticks and now this man - decorated for Service bravery, but clearly a troubled soul - has decided he can take no more.
Proud of yourself?

That was the point and what prompted my post @ lovetopaint

Innocent, never proved guilty.

MT62, it's what has happened to some RNLI volunteers.
It means identifying and publishing personal information, sometimes addresses, on the internet for malicious intent.

Yes I have heard since I asked. Yes bang out of order to give people’s names & addresses.

You would think that there would have been DNA from the chaps sweaty hands, that it would have been transferred to the lady’s coat.
So they could have ruled him out straight away if it wasn’t him.

That was the problem. The Police took his DNA but were taking months to analyse it, whether deliberate or not I don't know, but this was messing with his head.
