Sympathy for Harry anyone?

Is there anyone left who has any sympathy for H&M after the recent pantomime? I’ve been in the ‘against’ camp since the birth of Archie when they deliberately misled the press and public with delayed announcements and made it clear they were doing things their way. Since then….well. I have a close friend who still thinks the sun shines out of Harry’s backside, he’s had a terrible upbringing and life, he should get an apology….I’m avoiding contact with her this week as I know she’ll have another excuse about him.

Not "telling off "nor "policing" - people are free to receive my comments as they will - but simply pointing out that there is a choice to not join in the vendetta on the basis of no real information.

I cannot start a positive thread about them because I do not know what they are like - I know only what the media would like us to think about them and I do not take this at face value. I find it disturbing that so much venom is directed at them with no evidence.

As long as you’re not directing venom I’m sure you’ll be fine. If it disturbs you, then just scroll past.
Continuing to read something that you know upset you or will puzzle you or disturb you is not healthy. It’s like a self inflicted injury.

Thank you Lucky Girl for your comments. It is unreal the amount of negative energy people vent towards H and M . I just want to say thank you for those here like Lucky Girl that give a different and welcome viewpoint.

Luckygirl3 Mon 13-Jul-26 12:36:43

Thank you Syracute.

Ilovecheese Mon 13-Jul-26 12:43:19

I also want to thank you for your posts Luckygirl
You are never less than reasonable and polite.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 13-Jul-26 13:44:31

I am polite too. Always.
The fact that I find H&M irritating beyond belief is allowed. 😁
I’m never mean or rude.
I had great hopes for them within the royal family. A breath of fresh air.
Then they chose to walk away from it all (and us).

It hurt for a while (stupid I know to say that) but as the latex Queen counselled him - he couldn’t be half in/half out - so he chose ‘out’.

But not really. And not fully.
I’ve lost respect for him.

Enjoy your life Harry. You have a beautiful wife, two gorgeous children and pots of money. However your life seems a bit empty I think. So do some good. Find a job, a vocation. Some meaning to it and well ‘just get on with it now’. Quietly, if possible. Thank you.

Not rubber * 😮

The 'real information' was provided by H&M in their interview with Oprah and then lots more in H's book, Spare. And lots more slagging off of the Royal family on interviews.
I've just stated facts and not been rude whereas Luckygirl13 has been rude and, at times, insulting in defending a couple that she doesn't even know!

There have been a lot of hateful disgusting remarks on this thread . Nobody here knows them personally and can not judge . Most so called facts are gleaned from the tabloid press that gleefully profit on hate driven articles.

MarieElla Mon 13-Jul-26 16:29:03

Syracute
The main reason people dislike H&M is due to their behaviour (Oprah and Spare, as has been stated many times) not due to what the media have made up.

eazybee Mon 13-Jul-26 16:35:50

No. The facts are not 'gleaned from tabloid press hate-driven articles.'
The facts are taken from words and actions committed by Harry and Meghan in interviews, films and their ghost written . 'books'.
Straight from the horse's mouth.
Primary sources.

They are both proven liars that’s what turns people off. Most can see through them. His book, their interviews, tv shows, the grifting off Invictus designed to rehabilitate their images, all of it. Now, we add to that a court case where he lied under oath about knowing journalists and yet once her Facebook messages were revealed he knew her intimately and popped pills on her tongue. Let’s see if he sues her for revealing that. Somehow I doubt it.

They have people in their pocket like Chris Ship on itv, various reporters across different newspapers and their pr people have a wattsapp group for favoured journalists. Strange given his hatred of the press.

Syracute Mon 13-Jul-26 16:38:03

Nope. It is often parroted what is written and threads are started tge minute DM has a headline about them.
No here could survive that sort of media glare much less 3 different threads of nonsense.

Silvershadow Mon 13-Jul-26 16:42:47

They love the media glare Syracute. Love it. If they didn’t they’d live quietly in America like thousands of other celebrities that we never hear about.

Mollygo Mon 13-Jul-26 16:43:36

You’re right about Nobody knowing them personally, but you are also judging them.

You may be judging them more positively, but you’re also using Most so called facts are gleaned from the tabloid press.

Seems a bit reminiscent of Janus to criticise others for something you’re doing yourself.

MissAdventure Mon 13-Jul-26 17:43:06

They may be liars, the point is, what difference does it make to me and mine, or you and yours?

MarieElla Mon 13-Jul-26 17:59:16

It makes no difference to me or mine but it is the ultimate reality show....better entertainment than the Real Housewives of whatever anyway!

Smileless2012 Mon 13-Jul-26 18:04:09

I just don't like liars MissA and there's no maybe about it, they are.

MissAdventure Mon 13-Jul-26 18:26:41

👍
Fair enough.

Anniebach Mon 13-Jul-26 19:36:20

Following their engagement H told the world the queen invited M to spend Christmas with the royal family, not usual for the queen but M didn’t want to go to America. She was given a warm welcome by the family and felt part of it
No mention of racism !

MarieElla Mon 13-Jul-26 19:53:11

Yes and he also said in that interview that Meghan was experiencing the family life she'd never had!!

StTrinians Tue 14-Jul-26 11:23:44

Is it really "venom"? I think people expressing their opinions, based on available evidence, is acceptable in a democracy. I like to read what people truly think, not what they feel they can safely write. There is a difference.

And here we all are, including you Syracute, - contributing to the media glare and three different threads of stuff you consider nonsense because you disagree.
🤣🤣🤣

Molly ... it seemed important to me not to join the media-led and selectively media-informed vendetta against this couple, not because they are any part of my life, but because I am deeply concerned about fairness and about the sort of trial-by-social media that features so much now. It feels wrong in principle.

Given your interest in fairness, then you must surely be interested in what H and M say in their own words . On TV, under oath in court, on Netflix, in his autobiography.

Meghan, on global TV, told a flagrant lie she underwent an earlier secret private marriage to H carried out by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Archbishop of Canterbury is the senior bishop and primate of the Church of England, and the spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion. He's a member of the House Of Lords. His position carries huge weight in religion, Parliament, Law-making in Britain.

Meghans lied that A of C broke the law of the land and his church. He was forced to refute that lie and clarify, he did not break the law. He did not secretly marry them ahead of the public wedding.

What principle was at stake? Do you think truth , law and justice are important?

Mollygo Tue 14-Jul-26 15:32:14

In the interests of fairness -you make some very good points. I fear they will be ignored.
