This lady was asleep in her bed, with her husband and with her young baby, in their own home.

“A man has been charged with murder after a woman was fatally stabbed in Hayes, west London.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called just before 08:00 BST to a property on Uxbridge Road on Sunday where they found Kirandeep Kaur with stab wounds.

Despite efforts of emergency services, the 24-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 20s was found outside the property, also with stab injuries. He remains in hospital and his condition is not considered to be life threatening.

Daniel Sean James, 44, of Mercer Place, Pinner, was also charged on Monday with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. He is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Tuesday”

Someone on Facebook has asked “where is the cold dark rage”

He’s not advocating violence, but he’s questioning why this doesn’t meet the narrative of being outraged.

What is happening in our country and in our world?

It is just more division. Dividing people up according to skin colour is done by both sides, the progressives just can't see it.

Spot on 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Genuine question Galaxy. If there are "both sides" and one side is "progressives", how do you define the other side?

Galaxy Mon 20-Jul-26 09:45:40

The right i suppose. Progressives is a word I use because I can't bring myself to use the term left to describe those who do identity politics. It isn't the right word but the best I have. Maybe something based around identity would be better - identitarians??

That’s a terrible thing to say Tuliptree
Reform supporters are not NF supporters, many are disgruntled former Labour supporters.

If you support/ vote Reform you are a NF supporter - it’s irrelevant what you were previously.

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 09:51:42

NF = Nigel Farage btw - surely you didn’t think I meant the other NF ? Do they even exist now?

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 09:55:54

My point has always been and remains that this murder has received little coverage because the suspect is white and the victim a Sikh. Were it the other way round Reform and their supporters would have been rioting in the streets - it’s nothing to do with respect.

JaneJudge Mon 20-Jul-26 09:59:44

I think it’s received less coverage because of the football

JaneJudge Mon 20-Jul-26 10:00:02

I don’t know whether that’s better or worse

I wish I could believe that were true.

I utterly agree.

BUT, I stress again it does not diminish the act of murder, it doesn’t make the act of murder less or more important according to whom the victim and the perpetrator were/are.

Frankly it’s the media, as well as some people’s attitudes, that give the perception that somehow a person of colour killing a white person is in some way “worse” than the other way around.

People can deny this all they like, but history shows it’s always been portrayed in this way.

I am happy to be described as a socialist or left of centre, bearing in mind it is a very broad church.
If the press demonstrate double standards in reporting, then shame on them.

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 10:17:42

Of course it shouldn't diminish the murder but it does because the discourse is so muted. I’m reminded of the death of the two little girls mowed down by a woman driver outside their school. She was white and they were not. The parents have had to fight really hard to get a proper investigation and for charges to be brought. The father of at least one of the girls believes that race played a factor in how the case was initially handled So yes being the wrong race does often result in your death being diminished.

I did read about and thought it was truly shocking. Did it receive the publicity surrounding the murder of Henry, well it no it didn't. My thoughts on why that was, possibly the crass way and absolute dereliction of duty by the police in their response at the crime scene. Every victim of such terrible killings matter, it's never an either or as far as I'm concerned. As yet we don't know much about the assailant of the young mother's murder was he one of the dangerous career criminals who have recently been released from prison, was this an opportunist burglary, or was there a racist motive? I imagine we will know the answers in due course, but whatever gave him the impetus to commit this appalling crime, I hope he gets a full life sentence, nothing else will do! I feel the same about Henry's killer, the lies and obfuscation were very much part of the assailant's devious nature in besmirching Henry as the racist. Surprising though, given he was a Sikh who generally come across as a law abiding and honourable people, but there are always aberrations.

Looking at the wider issue of racial profiling in serious sexual assaults and murders, I don't think it makes a large proportion of the population racists to be outraged by what has been committed by those we have given sanctuary to. It sickened me to read about the young woman who was raped and generally degraded on Brighton Beach, and crimes like it, just as it would if the perpetrators were white homegrown men, but they weren't! they were being housed courtesy of the tax payer in a hotel just outside the town where I live. I remember Merkel saying something along the lines, when it became apparent that there were a disproportionate amount of attacks against women from those migrants who Germany gave refuge to, "whenever this happens it's a complete betrayal". Exactly this! and do we, the public, need to know when a violent act is committed by any demographic, I'd say we do! that doesn't make people racist, it's a freedom of information right. I acknowledge that there are those on the far right who will and do make capital out of that! and as always, it has to be said because out of the 70 million people in our country, around 80% are white so they, as a ratio of that population will be committing the most crime. Is it just as bad to have a white home grown perpetrator? yes! ......but we can't get rid of them, more's the pity!

It is getting ridiculous this obsession with race and skin colour. Does it happen in other countries as well ?

The woman driver that crashed into the school wasn’t drunk, nor had she taken drugs. She and police believed it was a medical black out.
The Father who believes that she was treated too leniently because of ethnicity is grieving so is entitled to believe what he likes but it doesn’t make it true. The death of children is never taken lightly.

Oreo - now she is finally going to court, we will hopefully find out the truth. There must be more than a ‘medical blackout’ to the story. I have memories of a bin lorry driver in Glasgow. blacking out and people dying, turned out he’d been told not to drive by his doctor. So who knows?

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 10:49:21

Well anyone who thinks race and ethnicity are not live issues in Oz is clearly living in cloud cuckoo land

That had nothing to do with race, and neither was the sad case of the school deaths.

Oreo Mon 20-Jul-26 10:52:23

…and it’s sowing division and upset to continually bring race into absolutely everything.

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 10:55:29

I know the Glasgow case had nothing to do with race. I think it’s pretty obvious why I was quoting this example. As for the school deaths, I was quoting one of the fathers who believes that race influenced the behaviour of the police investigating the incident. It wouldn’t be the first time would it? Remember the two black sisters murdered in a London park and how the family found their bodies when the police had refused to search? And the photographs?
