Totally unworkable.
But then what did anyone expect.
Is like Reform saying they will use the navy to stop small boats.
I imagine many people in the UK want to see an end to the illegal trafficking of vulnerable people seeking asylum or just a shot at a better life, but only long term workable policies thought out with the cooperation of other European countries will work.

This is how you appeal to the low common denominator and, as it stands would mean my children would not be British and nor would many who are the children of children of service personel.

No doubt there would be "exceptions" but with such a blunt piece of legislation it could easily be manipulated.

Those whose far-right streak makes them excited about this should remember history.

One of the Nazi government's most significant legal changes was to redefine who counted as a citizen of Germany. The key change came with the Nuremberg Laws, passed in September 1935. These laws created two different legal statuses:

Reich citizens: People considered to have "German or related blood" who were deemed loyal to the Nazi state. Only they enjoyed full political rights, such as voting and holding public office.

These citizenship changes were a crucial step in the Nazis' broader program of persecution. By removing legal protections and political rights, the regime made it easier to exclude Jews from public life, confiscate property, and later carry out increasingly severe persecution that culminated in the Holocaust.

Some of us - many- are all too aware and were even affected-or our parents/grandparents were, so let’s not catastrophise.

I was born in the UK. I have lived here all my life. Both my parents were UK passport holders but as neither of my grandfathers was born in the UK and neither was my mother I am not British. Makes perfect sense.

My grandmother was born in the West Indies in a British 'colony'. (Which made her legally British, of course.) My mother was born there, too.

So how would Restore classify me and my siblings?

I understand they want to deport a million immigrants. With their definition of British I think they'd have to deport half the population

We're you born in the UK? I don't feel in immediate danger but then, neither did many of the Jews, of those who had been specifically threatened in the USA.

Please don't tell me how seriously I should take the threats of those whose beliefs are based on violence, hatred, or intolerance when it appears to include me. I chose to believe the people of this country are better than that, but I also look at history - including in recent years - and know that "good people" rarely win against monsters - at least not in the monsters early days in power.

Are Restore just baiting Reform? Nigel Farage's children have dual British and German nationality and Zia Yusuf's parents were born in Sri Lanka.

This type of headline catching, divisive "policy" just promotes more political in-fighting when the country has more important things to worry about.

If you are not British because your parents were not born in the U.K., but you marry a superior British person, does that mean your offspring are British or not, as you do not have British status?
