Another attempt by Trump to end the war with Iran

The sanctions already imposed on Iran for a very long time have caused terrible hardship for the innocent people who live there. Already they are struggling and have heard many don’t have enough to eat so what further damage does the US wish to impose. The regime will have plenty of money and supplies squirreled away but the innocent people will bear the brunt of this.

The Iranian regime doesn't care about the ordinary people and they will suffer the most from further sanctions.
The blame for all the suffering is firmly with Trump. He is now stuck in a war that has achieved nothing but suffering.

Trump is now threatening to bomb the US ally Oman if it gets in the way of this deal.

I agree AGA. Trump has started a war that he cannot finish so wants other countries to impose sanctions to 'win' it for him.

Trump is clearly under some type of mental impairment, but absolutely nobody around him will ask any urgent questions or dare challenge him.

I’m not sure if this has been posted before, but I’ll repeat it here.

Immediately after Trump first bombed Iran, claiming total victory, Iran destroyed all the navy victualling yards.

You may have noticed recently that conditions on board the Aircraft carrier ‘Abraham Lincoln” have been so dreadful that a number of sailors had tried taking their own life.

The reason being that Iran completely destroyed Americas ability to victual its navy.

Can Abraham Lincoln not be moved or wont Trump allow it to be? Surely the families of those on board know what's happening.

Trump is now threatening to rename Lake Ontario, "Lake America"! OMG he is just the pettiest of men, how on earth did he become POTUS, he really is an absolute joke (but with his finger on the nuclear button). His approval rating continues to slip, so many of those who voted him in for a second term are regretting their decision. Roll on the mid terms!

He's just done one of the most stupid things so far. Antagonising the Chinese.

My Iranian friend whose sis lives in Tehran says they have plenty of weapons squirrelled away but not food stocks or goods.
There is real, genuine suffering, terrible inflation, and it is the sanctions from outside the country is large and produce quite a lot of its own food - but there are limits.

Again, does it "warm" hearts and minds towards "rescue" from the West? Yes, many want more democratic rights and freedom forth constraints from the revolutionary guard (which are uneven, depending where you live)

But they have stopped hoping Trump will deliver that a while back.

The regime don't actually live rich lives off the back of the people nor the revolutionary guard who are the "police". Their commitment to power is ideological and they have been building up arms for 49 years to prepare for just this sort of event.

I don't read any suggestions that the regime "live rich lives off the back of the people", but the regime's concentration on producing, procuring and stockpiling weapons comes before the welfare of their people. I suspect the revolutionary guard are not short of nourishment.

The only thing I can find which has been confirmed is that Ratcliffe (CIA) did not meet Putin, but members of the KGB.

A good guess might be that Ukraine was on the table, or Iran, but at initial stages, not actual peace talks.

Remember the West meddled and forced a regime change in the last century that went disastrously wrong.
