What makes you think this is an overcrowded country that needs to cull? There is plenty of space.
Less than 10% of the UK is developed and that includes all the green space in urban environments.
I’m struggling to remember the last time I had to queue to park. Oh, yeah, it was an RHS country show where the organisers had underestimated the number of visitors.
Never not been able to park in London or any major city or the smaller city I live on the edge of.
You have an odd notion of what the UK is like.

This is low, even for Reform
(316 Posts)Criticise me all you like and accuse me of being obsessed with Reform, if it makes you feel better.
Reform, via Nigel Farage's home affairs spokesman, Zia Yusuf, came under fire after unveiling the game, known as Small Boats Scramble. In a statement he also said the top scorer on the game over the next month would win £5,000.
It’s an online game, with a prize, which appears to comprise Royal Navy boats “capturing” small boats crossings the channel.
Is this really want we want from our political parties?
Frankly, I find this sickening!
I find Reform disgusting.
I no longer recognise this country we are living in, it’s certainly not because of migrants.
Oh get a grip it’s getting boring. Nothing on Rayner or the wet sop Burnham or even Yvette coopers dodgy dealings. Nigel is living rent free in your head. Maybe comment on the genocide of Christians in Nigeria or the murders in Iran, but no it’s Nigel Nigel Nigel
Are you the cruiselover who posts like this on Facebook?

And btw Farage was the mastermind of Brexit so he effectively caused the small boats crisis.
No he didnt and wasnt because he was not prime minister and not in power. How did he mastermind Brexit?

Eherone is ok with migrants as long as they are not ne t door to them,
I’ve had migrants living very close to me, both opposite (Africans) and two doors down were Eastern Europeans, further down we have two families of Orthodox Jews, in between some Polish people.
All are lovely people, we always exchange pleasantries. The Africans across the road had children at my children’s Primary School, where I was a school governor for 15+ years. We had 36 different nationalities, and transient and traveller families.
It was the only local Primary that guaranteed siblings a place and initially the cultural and languages caused me concern, hence becoming a governor, so I could really get a feel for how it all worked. I was also Chair of the PTA for 3 years. Any fears I had were founded, it was hard work and needed careful planning and highly dedicated staff and an innovative Head, and were fortunate enough, on the whole, to have this.
Sometimes, people’s fears and anxieties are very real to them, but with time and patience and showing them how things can work, these gradually dissipate.
Conversely, of course, when people in authority, with a large reach, do the opposite and consistently exploit and encourage people’s fears, anxieties and worries, civil unrest arises.
This is more or less where we are now.
Please, if you’ve been affected, since end of 2018, personally by any one refugee or a group of them, share your experiences with us?
I live in a large, but pretty modest mid terrace house, many have been turned into flats, before planning had to include off road parking provision.
Quite a few flats are rented out to both British born people, and those not born here.
We have a multitude of different cafes and restaurants, from all nations, and two pretty amazing Indian shops within walking distance, which sell the most amazing range of fresh fruit and vegs, as well as fresh and dried spices and herbs. We also have a large Polish shop, a Co-Op, and small Tesco, smaller Sainsbury and a few little independent shops.

How about the genocide in Gaza, or the poor citizens in both Ukraine and Afghanistan.
So sorry you find those of here on here who don’t support Farage and Lowe boring. It’s not just those on the left who despise these one trick pony politicians!

I believe you’re only too aware of how Farage coerced a very weak PM into holding a referendum and then ran a highly publicised campaign of all the benefits of leaving the EU, including, as I recall, a bus stating how much the NHS would benefit.
Perhaps, if you choose to respond, you can manage to do so with resorting to personal slurs and insults 🙂🙂
This is a News and Politics thread, it’s bound to cause disagreements and heated debate.
That’s absolutely fine, we are all different, we all have different back stories, events within our own lives that shape our own beliefs and moral compass.
I might not agree with them, but I respect your right to both disagree with me and state that.
We do still live in a democracy, we do still have freedom of speech.

Well - Nigel Nigel Nigel is currently a topical item in the News News News...
As was Starmer Starmer Starmer prior to him stepping down - and we did plenty of coverage on that issue here on GN when, it could be said, he also had a similar tenancy-agreement with some.
There’s none so blind as those who cannot see !

Think you know, as well as I do, not on this thread, but it’s been removed! 😜😜
Oh actually, maybe it was on this thread?? It was definitely a N&P thread.
Hey ho, no matter.
Brain (mine) not quite on board this morning, it’s not full of Farage but I was up at 6 this morning and did a round trip to Heathrow Airport to drop DS off, took just over 5 hours to do round trip, no stops for breaks.
I have a strong sense that Farage is on his way out now that you have Andy Burnham. I think that other Rupert bloke is more of a danger and much more right wing than Farage. Possibly Tice might take over, who knows ?

You could well be right.
Lowe was in Reform and he is the only MP in his newly founded party, maybe if Farage disappears Lowe will go back.
Who knows?
We will all have to wait and see.
And wish and hope.
Unsavoury.

I think it was agreeing with another poster about how you came across. The original thread has not been removed, just my reply agreeing so do you find the original comment not insulting but my agreeing with it was?
In any case it was not meant to be offensive at all, just reflective of how you may feel inside.
So it's an app available to anyone but the I ly people who will be doing whatever the actual game is is going to be racists, thugs and knuckle draggers. And maybe you might want to educate yourself on who commits what offences in this country, white British men are far more likely to rape or murder someone. I was raped, by a British man and was saved by an immigrant.

Actually I do find the original post, which you chose to repeat and agree with, both insulting and actually untrue.
Disagree with me, by all means, tell me you don’t like what I post, but please don’t tell me, or any other poster here, what’s in their head and that they must be a “sad” poster, or whatever it was the original post stated, and then reshare just so you can agree.
It was a personal remark, about me, not aimed at my beliefs or what I post.
I do have very strong beliefs, which both those agreeing with me and those opposing me, do too.
That’s fine, this is a public forum and we can say, think and believe whatever we choose, without becoming personal.
Both you and the original poster chose to be personal.
I haven’t actually addressed it directly with the other poster, because they seem to pop up, make some random comment and then don’t come on here again for a while, then ditto ditto.
I loathe and detest Farage and Lowe and every single thing that they stand for, I find their ideas racist, sexist and on occasion homophobic and I absolutely believe that they are 100% responsible for the divisions we currently have in our country.
I don’t hate British people, I’ve acknowledged a dozen times that we need a solution to the small boats arriving.
I get totally hacked off with people here, and in real life, who cannot or will not accept that the Labour Government are not the problem here and that they’ve made great inroads into attempting to resolve a situation which they didn’t start or cause.
So just to clarify, Farage has not taken residency in my head. (Nor has any other politician)
I’m not sad or unbalanced or anything else the op may wish to throw at me, which you may wish to reshare to agree with.
I trust this clarifies my position.
I think it's disgusting labour get their
financial donations from unions with many people on poor pay !

I get totally hacked off with those who cannot see what damage a Labour government is inflicting on this country. It is my fervent wish that they will be voted out at the earliest opportunity and a Reform/tory coalition will be voted in to try to limit the damage. A good start would be to eliminate stamp duty and inheritance tax, raise personal allowance, get us out of the .European Court of Human rights and stop illegal immigration. Also help smallbusinesses and help the Jewish people.
We are diametrically opposed and you do come across as very fervent against Reform but I feel the same about this Government, whoever happens to be leading it.
They are a government of soak those they see as wealthy. I have it from the horses mouth what benefit money goes on, for some, alcohol and drugs. I know this to be 100% factual.
A lot of people are so angry at what taxpayers money gets spent on, it all needs to change but Labour are not going to make these changes to save our country.
Take that....unions wishing to spend money on party political activities is a separate political fund. Trade unions must ballot members and no member is obliged to contribute to a unions political fund if they don't wish to.
I’m afraid the measures you suggest are Cloud cuckoo land Meandrogrog. Not because we currently have a Labour government, as they would not be achievable in the current economic climate in the real world regardless of the party in charge.
