I did want to discuss this, read about the new EU agreement agreement and did respond when you mentioned this before (on the thread about Piddington) but I was ignored. People would rather malign and argue about men they have never met than discuss solutions.

The far right have always had members who are antisemites, Yaxley Lennon back in the day was happy to have Holocaust deniers and thugs with swastika tattoos on their arms. But people pick strange bedfellows according to their prejudices and now there are a growing number of people who loathe antisemitism throwing in their lot with the likes of Restore and championing Yaxley Lennon in order to blame all of our ills upon Muslims.
It would be laughable if it wasn’t so dangerous.

Its not just the small boats and the undocumented so called asylum seekers though is it? Mass immigration has changed the face of society in this country. No one - certainly not I - was ever asked if we wanted to vote for a so called multi ethnic society. We have been betrayed by the mandarins in Westminster and people are angry. Justifiably so.

Why should be be "consulted" about having a multi-ethnic country?

Our whole population, going back, has always been made of immigration and settling, people coming and leaving, integrating or keeping certain religious faiths and habits like our jewish population - and all its own variety - are you suggesting "they' should up and leave too?

But to return to the present, I love living in a multi-cultural society and would not want to change it for a moment. Society evolves and frankly I find it vibrant and interesting and enjoyable.

"Multi ethnic" is not really the term as ethnicity and culture are somewhat different.

Ethnicity refers to a shared ancestral, geographical, and historical identity, while culture refers to the learned and shared system of values, beliefs, behaviors, and customs of a group. ie cultural.

For example culturally we have christians (of different kinds of course, ie Greek and other Orthodox like some of the the Eritrean refugees arriving.

And of course':

Please do not forget, very, very different varieties of Muslim cultures and values - please no cookie cutter beliefs .......for that is to actually deny reality. We do need and do set guidelines for what is unacceptable like FGM. But we complain about aspects of Muslim misogyny ignoring its large sale existence in our own country!

My city is 10.3 % "non trad white Brits" and I wouldn't change it for the world. My hairdresser, gym friends one is Muslim, one is a refugee from Eritrea, then there is X who is an intellectual from Iran and his mates and we natter politics...

It's also necessary to point out that we need immigration as our population is aging and we need some skills that we cannot provide without immigration. sorry, that point is so obvious that I omitted it. I can recall way back that the greatest comfort my MiL had in her residential home in London, as she was a strong christian, was from a carer from West Africa, who herself had firm christian beliefs. What comfort in her last months.

Nanna8 but we have good buses, trains, ferries, flights. Car parking is not an issue except maybe in London where you don’t need a car due to excellent transport facilities.

When I am in Bunbury WA there is no train as it broke down and they cannot be bothered to repair it, local buses only, no way of getting to other cities apart from driving or flying. I think your statement was a bit odd given that Australia is totally full of immigrants ( my brother for example, my step son and family too) of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, cultures, religions many of whom have huge cars to pollute.
