bad writting (sic)

I wasn't sure whether to put this here, on the "Am I being unreasonable ..." forum, or on Education, but finally plumped for here.

Last week, when I dropped DGS at pre-school, I noticed that on the board where they list some of the activities for the day, it said "writting". As it was not in permanent ink, I couldn't resist erasing one of the 't's. Got there today and there it was again, and of course I repeated my sly alteration. However, it's left me wondering, should I mention it? I don't want to because I think it would seem really petty, but on the other hand, it is an educational establishment...

Being a coward, I will probably just keep doing what I've done so far, in the hope that some member of staff finally notices that the word keeps being changed and twigs why.

What - if anything - would the rest of you do? grin

I don't think that sloppy speech helps either. Where has "th" disappeared to, to be replaced by "v". Every time I ring my doctor I get a recorded message - "please stay on the line and we will be WIV you shortly". My blood pressure has spiked before I even get to speak to the receptionist! I was asked recently by a young man on a part-time course at a local college to read through the draft of an essay he had written (about fishing, which is probably why he asked me!). I had to tell him that, with the poor spelling, punctuation and grammar, he would probably lose a lot of marks, and I offered to help him re-write it. "Oh, it's ok", he said, "it's the content we're marked on, not the spelling and the grammar." Well that's alright then!

They don't appear to have noticed my corrections yet - or at least haven't twigged the reason for them. They have done writting again twice this week!
Still, it didn't make my blood boil as much as the two parents driving into the tiny and very chaotic nursery car park and reverse-parking one handed, while speaking on their mobile phones!
