What on earth...? party

Has someone requested a 'party' emoticon?

Or perhaps GNHQ are gearing up for their 5th birthday.

party just wanted to see what this new emoticon was

I also like JFDI. Just @@@@ing do it.

As a former civil servant I like acronyms. There was a brilliant episode of Yes Minister full of them. E G. YP - your problem. OPP - other people's problem. And my favourite NMP - not my problem. In other words CBA.

But CBA sums up those feelings so well. Can anyone else express that emotion quite so succintly as "CBA" does?

Is it possible to be arsed though? It wouldn't be as good if Catherine Tate asked, "Am I arsed?" ?

Jing, if you are going top have a brew, would you like to borrow Mrs. P's mug ?

thatbags Wed 27-Apr-16 19:10:10

Wheelie bins have wheels, jings. What are you on about bottoms for?

wot Wed 27-Apr-16 18:33:33

I think it's funny!

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 27-Apr-16 17:30:01

Have you got any bottom left to your wheelie bin bags?

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 27-Apr-16 17:28:20

But all these sayings are so useful. They hit the nail on the head. (Yes. Another one) I suppose that's why they stay around.

What can beat "totally pissed off"?

thatbags Wed 27-Apr-16 16:37:42

Can't be arsed to expend any energy on hating something so trivial.

That said, I used to dislike the term "pissed off" but I told DH I was pissed off with having to ask him not to drive past the wheelie bin when it's at the bottom of the hill after emptying but to hitch it onto the car and tow it up. The arrangement has been the same for nearly TEN blimmin' years! He's had time to get used to the idea and to remember.

Snarl.

Grumpygran12 Wed 27-Apr-16 15:59:22

Oh I know it's funny really but I have one friend who uses it all the time and I suppose I am bored with it.
I have no problem with the choice of language- i can swear like the proverbial trooper (trouper?) -just don't like the sound of it!
any other sayings that get on your nerves?

grannylyn65 Wed 27-Apr-16 15:58:15

You make me smile

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 27-Apr-16 15:52:10

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 27-Apr-16 15:51:14

I am going to have a brew as I cba to do any more gardening.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 27-Apr-16 15:50:24

Why the blush?! confused

grannylyn65 Wed 27-Apr-16 15:49:29

blush

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 27-Apr-16 15:48:28

Oops! Forgot the friendly smile

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 27-Apr-16 15:47:47

It sounds horrible. And is so totally illustrative of its meaning.

grannylyn65 Wed 27-Apr-16 15:45:58

No, think CBA is quite amusing!! In correct context though!

Grumpygran12 Wed 27-Apr-16 15:44:06

does anyone else hate the sound of phrases like 'Can't be arsed' or am I being fussy. It just sounds so ugly!
