Oh I know it's funny really but I have one friend who uses it all the time and I suppose I am bored with it.
I have no problem with the choice of language- i can swear like the proverbial trooper (trouper?) -just don't like the sound of it!

That said, I used to dislike the term "pissed off" but I told DH I was pissed off with having to ask him not to drive past the wheelie bin when it's at the bottom of the hill after emptying but to hitch it onto the car and tow it up. The arrangement has been the same for nearly TEN blimmin' years! He's had time to get used to the idea and to remember.

As a former civil servant I like acronyms. There was a brilliant episode of Yes Minister full of them. E G. YP - your problem. OPP - other people's problem. And my favourite NMP - not my problem. In other words CBA.

This made me smile and remember when my daughter first used .'cant to arsed,' i understood it to be 'cant to asked', so went into ' oh yes you can be asked because i am asking you'.

I suppose its a cruder form of 'cant be bothered to get up and move my backside/arse'??

I dont like it anyway, neither do i care for pissed off as an expression but have to admit on a couple of occasions to having used it, to emphasise just how strongly i feel about something. they know then not to mess with me ........

I love JFDI used to use it a lot (initials only) when trying to explain to staff the inevitability of decisions made higher up the chain. Always said with a smile never threateningly. I generally don't like acronyms however, fed up with LOL, OMG, PMSL and prefer to write whole words even on Gransnet.

What is really getting on my nerves is people not pronouncing words properly - just listen to the latest Lidl advert. For-ey (instead of forty), Br-ish (instead of British)! And then that Tattoo programme - fixing idiots' ta-oos! Grrrr Does my head in!!?
