I accept most things in speech. This changes all the time, and in a short while there will be a different thing to complain about. What I do object to is when it is written. Spelling and punctuation errors all jump out at me if incorrect, and I miss the meaning of what has been written.
When I was working my manager used to keep saying 'we must hit the ground running'. What on earth does that mean? Yes I would probably hit the ground if I ran and tripped, but I don't think that's what he meant!
Locally here people say meet me at mine, or shall I come to yours? instead of my house or your house. I'd never heard it until I moved to this part of Essex. It bugs me though!
Yggdrasil was obviously taught a different version of the French "vous"and "tu". We were told that one used the formal "vous" in general, whereas the more informal "tu" was used for close friends, or at least people we knew better.
