The addition of "time"

Do we have magazine articles on, "How to get your feet in trim for summer time"? How about if the cookery programmes promoted, "Winter time warmers"? It doesn't sound right either.

Or is that different from, "Summer time, when the living is eeeeaasy"?

Oh well, if it's to make a song fit a tune, that's different! ??

I loved that song in the Summer time (Mungo Jerry) wasn’t it late 60’s? Dah dah dah da dah etc.

I don’t think we say Winter time do we? Although...Spring time?

As a slight deviation, Carol Kirkwood , the weather lady on Breakfast tv always says , the evening period or the morning period. Why can she not say just the morning or evening. The use of period is unnecessary.

It is odd how we have to complicate things. I react every time I hear 'showcase'. It's no longer "we need to show...". It is "we need to showcase..."Why?
