Procreation is the thief of time.

Aren’t these malapropisms?🤔 my friend is the queen of malapropisms!

BigBertha1 Fri 24-Feb-23 06:00:01

My golf pro writes to me about placing the ball next to my 'right heal'.

grandMattie Fri 24-Feb-23 06:16:33

They were in such a hurry that they “careened” round the corner.

grandMattie Fri 24-Feb-23 06:17:51

They are malapropisms, but infuriating nonetheless. It is sad that some become part of general vocabulary.

Aveline Fri 24-Feb-23 08:37:40

Sorry to be pedantic (!) but 'careen' is a good word. It means uncontrolled speed so one could easily careen around a corner.

Procreation is the thief of time.

It may be wrong- but procreating means no more time for piece and quite

My neighbour told me she had been to the doctor's with painful asteroids.

Sparklefizz Fri 24-Feb-23 09:23:20

PinkCosmos Fri 24-Feb-23 09:41:42

PinkCosmos Fri 24-Feb-23 09:48:24

*there - sorry

Witzend Fri 24-Feb-23 09:48:43

Katek

Perhaps you need a little restbite from all this sodapop

‘Restbite’ is one I often used to see on a forum for carers of people with dementia, where I was a regular visitor for several years.

However for once, even I couldn’t get too pedantically worked up about it, when the poor things really were desperate for a ‘bite’ of ‘rest’.

kircubbin2000 Fri 24-Feb-23 16:44:03

My friend's wound was exasperated by an infection.
