That is a really lovely painting that soop did, isn't it, number? We had a viewing of it in Glasgow on Tuesday!

phoenix - just seen your post! Daisy's tail seems to have 'beige roots', too - it must be a thing with long-haired white cats! Her winter coat is coming in quickly now.

My Lily is a white long hair too, Marelli , but as she refuses to go out, her chances of getting dirty are pretty slim. However her tail sometimes looks as if she is a bottle blonde with dark roots. About twice a year I clear the draining board, fill the sink with warm water, then sneak up on her while she's asleep. With Mr P's help she is plonked on the draining board, her tail is dunked then lathered up with John Frieda "Born Blonde" shampoo and rinsed.

If timed right, the whole exercise can be completed before she realises what's happening, but then she does always take quite a bit of time to wake up, and is also exceedingly thick.

...I shall take Mia's portrait to show the gang at the Glasgow gathering. You will receive it by the weekend.

...me, too! Will return to the Mia portrait this afternoon. It is so unlike anything I've tried before. As you can imagine, an all-white cat is far trickier to paint than an all-black cat. I'm very pleased that I didn't give up.

Glad I`m not the only one with a mucky pet then! At least she can`t do that in the night Marelli, we don`t have a cat flap, and so far, she`s not been out overnight.

Marelli we had a white dog who would jump in muddy puddles and always had a tide mark half way up her body!

number, my Daisy is a white long-hair......slugs, sticky-willies, bits of twig......all have ended up on our bed! And without fail, if it's raining during the night, she will jump up on the bed and stand with dripping fur, on the pillow next to a sleeping DH - never does it to me though !

number sweetie pie, if I'd had a photo of a messy Mia, I would have finished by now. Hate to say, but I'm sketching number four. I cannot fail...I must succeed...woop woop!

feetlebaum; we used to have Burmese cats, but I always wanted a Siamese. Not like other cats are they? My whippet is a cross between a cat and a dog [behaviour wise] and a good substitute. I found the people who bred them just bred Siamese and Burmese thinner and thinner, though, and not to my taste.

I`m beginning to doubt the wisdom of taking on a white cat! I know she`ll wash herself, but nearly every time she goes out for a play, she comes in looking a right little scruff, I don`t know WHAT she gets up to out there!
