Fed up with fluff!

My old cat had very thick fur no matter how often I brushed it she would still moult everywhere... sadly she's no longer with us but I never found a way to stop it , I did put an old pillow case in her favourite places to sit so the worst of it was on that.. good luck I hope you get some decent suggestions.. otherwise its 'keep vacuumiming'.

I was sorely tempted but she always ran for the hills when the vacuum was going... there was a place under my staircase where the dust bunnies would gather in droves , it was like the gathering of the clans under there.. I used to cheat and sweep them with my long handled dustpan and brush rather than drag out the hoover every day.. its very easy to gather up hair from the bed/sofa if you put on a rubber glove, dampen it and then sweep up the hair with your hand , it seems to stick to glove for some reason.

My cat runs and hides when the vacuum cleaner comes out, and does a bunk as soon as she sees the grooming brush, so I`ll just have to keep vacuuming the settee and chair, strangely, no hairs seem to adhere to daughter`s duvet cover, another favourite sleeping place.

Both my puss cats loved those grooming gloves, but one of them used to go into such an ecstasy that she would bite the hand that brushed her after five minutes or so. Clever timing was crucial.

Thanks for that MiceElf ! Sometimes when Digby is having a picked up cuddle (which he loves, Maurice on the other hand regards it as an affront to his dignity) he gets in such a doo dah that he "holds" either my shoulder or my hand with his teeth. It is definitely not a bite, as it is done so gently.

Unlike the occasion during pouncing practice the other week, when he managed to leave a puncture mark and a bead of blood in my big toe through the duvet, admittedly it was a summer weight one, but still !

I think I may well add a grooming glove to my list. By the way, is there any particular one that you would recommend?

number , Maurice likes to play "chicken" with the vauum cleaner, seeing just how close he will let it get before he saunters off with a "I was going to move anyway" air. The King of Cool, is Maurice, even the vet said so.

Actually if it's any help (and I doubt if it is) when I was with Exdh and had waist length hair, the fall out would often wind itself round the brush of the upright hoover and have to be removed!

We have the same laminate floors ans four cats problem. Haven't found an effective answer and can only say that at least the tumbleweed isn't as bad as when we had two border collies as well! It's seven years since the last dog went and I still find odd bits of dog hair when moving furniture. (Of course this probably says more about my housekeeping than it does about the fur)

Deedaa , long after my Jack Russell died, I would still get her hairs on my clothes from my work office chair, even though she had never been in the office! I think I would pick up the hairs at home, transfer them to the car, and then to work.

The cat hair on the laminate I can cope with, it's the Digby fur everywhere else that's a pain!

I think that the trick is to have a black cat and black clothes - then they don't show so it doesn't matter!
