I thought the same, Brenda but then I wondered if she was running round the back of the car to make sure the dog had gone. I think my instinct would have been to pick up the child though.
I heard an interview which said the cat used to climb into the childs cot when he was a baby while he was sleeping, I think the child was very lucky. I know some cats will stand up to dogs but I have never seen one before who would actually jump on a dog. It seems the cat is acting deliberately to protect the child.
The father said they were walking home and the cat started to follow them home. He said if the cat followed them home they would keep it. Lucky they did.
Poor little lad very nasty bites he suffered.
Lucky both the cat and mother were in the vicinity or it could have been very, very nasty .
I was a bit surprised about the cat in the cot as I used to put a 'cat net' over the pram when my babies were put in the garden for an airing. Do mothers do that nowadays? My mother said cats were attracted by the smell of milk and could smother a baby. I was also concerned when DGS was tiny and sleeping in a downstairs room with the window open as there were lots of cats around.
