Was anyone else watching the news just now where there was a report from No 10 in which a tabby and white cat was wandering about behind the news reporter; he then walked over to the front door of number 10, the door of which opened and the cat went in [not sure how they knew he was there; did he knock?]. No idea what the news report was about but was fascinated by the cat.

Oh; it appears that it must be Larry who has previously taken a swipe at one news reporter shock.

Wasn't there a number 10 cat years ago, but Cherie Blair didn't like cats so it had to be rehomed? Perhaps it's moved back in...

It has an official job, chief mouser. I wonder if it's going to get a payrise.

Supposedly he didn't get on with George Osbornes cat, Freya [who was a better mouser] but Freya was hit by a car sad and has moved away so he's now top cat [although Osborne now has a dog called Lola]. I can't believe I've been missing out on all this.

I know it was years ago as Ana correctly pointed out, but I know which one I would rather spend an afternoon with grin

Yes Tegan, I noticed that, the door opening a bit and the cat running inside and wondered how they knew to open the door. They need a cat flap in the number ten front door!

Given that Larry has a reputation for attacking lady reporters they were probably watching in horror from behind the curtains willing him to not do anything nasty on camera.

Maybe he has his own footman, whose job is to watch and let him in. Or maybe he has a chip in which signals when he is getting close.

Haven`t you noticed, the door to number 10 always opens without anyone having to knock, presumably they have a camera set up, so the cat gets the same treatment as visitors?

Larry came from Battersea Cats and Dogs Home a few years back. When I went there to rehome a cat I noticed they have a blue plaque on the pen where he stayed whilst at the Home!
