I'd like to thank my cats

A few years ago after I had taken my last cat to the vet late at night to be put to sleep, I then visited a friend of mine because I was totally distraught. Her two cats normally would not give me the time of day but each sat on the arm of my chair- they knew that something was wrong so came to help me. The next time I visited, true to form they did not come near me.

My Maggie is a very bounding, jumping around, excitable ball of fluff. When she visited my dad, she would lie down at the side of him and stay still but just lay with him, no jumping or anything. I think she knew he was poorly and needed gentleness. She's 7 next week so have to think of a low key birthday treat for her.

No he's back to his normal self - frogging and mousing in the garden and walking on the Downs for a couple of hours a day. I am back to being his housemaid.

It is amazing how they know if you are feeling dodgy. Two days ago I walked into a glass door hard - quickly - and suffered a huge bang to my head and nose and had sort of whiplash I think. Duncan the terrier dashed up the stairs barking at DH in the bathroom then dashed back down and simply sat by me, just looking. It was really extraordinary.

I adopted a mainly wild cat, years ago now. A little black cat. He was my best little friend for a good few years. He lived with me in my caravan. He loved my little coke stove.

A black and white cat which had got lost a few weeks ago and found her way here, cleaner on the top floor opened a velux window and she jumped inside Cleaner panicked and chased her downstairs.
She has re-appeared this morning but not sure how she got into the building.
Very affectionate 12 year old called Luna.
DD and SIL are helping at a charitable function today so waiting for them to get home to contact the owner. I do not have his number.
She is now having a great time with DGS, never been with children but just loves playing with him.
We share 2 young cats so do not want to let her out into the garden, and it is a lovely day and DGS and I had lotts planned.
Still she is a lovely cat and obviously clever enough to know where to run to.

I have had cats for many years, all rescues from the streets, they have come to me looking for a home. I didn't grow up with cats, so had no experience of them, so the first time I heard a cat-growl Alima, I was so surprised. That's lovely that Davy was warning you of possible danger. There's more to cats than meets the eye.

Yes, my GN name is for my 17 year old tuxedo, who is called Kits, and who is currently trying to jump on to my lap. He also has the loudest purrs and screeches that a cat should have!

It is so good but not unusual that your wonderful cats have been such a help to you Kitspurr. They form your GN name too? They do care and can tell how you are feeling.
In 1976 we were newly married in our new married quarter. Our first purchase, £2 from a pet shop in Plymouth, was a black and white male kitten. We called him Davy and he was the most wonderful friend to us for just over 17 years. When he was still very young, DH was away with his ship on fish patrol. They nabbed a Spanish trawler and unexpectedly docked around midnight with the men allowed home. When Davy heard the knocking on the door so late he stomped around growling trying to alert me. He knew that was out of the ordinary and was trying to protect me. Cats really are wonderful.

Had a knee replacement just over 2 weeks ago- and Slinky the old blind dachshund we rescued a few years back so missed me when in hospital. He won't leave my side now. 3 times a day I have to lie on my bed to work for 40 mins with the electric splint kinetec machine- which slowly forces the new knee to bend and then extend, increasing the degree every few moves. It is painful- but OH puts Slinky on the bed next to me and just lies there with his head on my arm. Pudding our Leicester rescue, 23 years old- was not happy when Slinky moved in- and she has been ignoring him royally so far. But since I got home- everytime I use the machine- she jumps up and lies next to him, and purrs and purrs to cheer me on.

It's as they know that this time I need support and looking after- like karma- it's wonderful and really helps.
