No pets as such, but the garden birds will be fed, their feeders kept clean, and bird bath water changed daily. (Our feathered friends need all the help they can get in the winter.)

Ernie feels that setting Christmas aside from other day, might impede upon the non stop dog fest that is our every day here.

He is too butch to wear clothing and eats better than me anyway, and is spoilt for cushions, I was wondering if a membership of an exclusive gentleman's club might be acceptable or a star named after him?????? Maybe a butler........I am his only staff member as things stand.........gold plated poo bags ??????

Have just got a Xmas card with love from granddog. What a clever girl!

My furry babies will be getting prawns for their Christmas present . Yes I am loopy ! They are a bit hit and miss with cat toys , either completely ignore them or destroy them in a minute .

Yesterday I made sardine flavoured dog biscuits for the granddog who will be with us over Christmas. I have a stocking to put them in.

I have just the animal presents left to buy. Dougal ( Our Boy) will get a new fleece to lie on . He never would use a bed but likes a fleece complete with a cushion!. Dogs each side of us will get a big box of Bonio each, and The cat next door will get something luxuriously tasty, will have a look what takes my eye when shopping.

Yes we do wrap them all up :=)

Cats don't need toys like dogs do.....they are happy with a box.

So good to hear from other animal lovers.
We can admit to being silly about our pets
Our cat treats any toys with disdain, one dog is a couch potato and doesn't play , the two terriers need extra strength toys if they are to last more than five minutes.
They give us so much pleasure ( and work)tchsmile

Our 2 dogs often get a present from my sister who stays with us, but we've never bought them presents (unless you count the collars we got, one with a bow tie for him and the other with a bandana & bell for her).

Jayanna9040 Fri 16-Dec-16 09:45:51

Oh chelseababy, do you have a grand dog? Me too! All the fun and none of the responsibilty?

Jane10 Fri 16-Dec-16 09:39:56

Baz is already thoroughly enjoying the boxes my Amazon orders are arriving in. The sitting room looks such a mess but DH won't let me tidy the boxes away as Baz is having such a good time in them. They're his best present ever even if they are a bit early.

Naughty Toby! Our labradors have progressed from the bin to the worktops. Christmas is a nightmare trying to keep everything out of their reach. They will have a tuggy toy each which will last all of 5 minutes. I've hidden them in those slim wine bottle bags which will also be shredded in next to no time.
Do your pets also give presents to family members? Ours "buy!" an inexpensive silly gift for everyone.

A "Wagtastic" Christmas stocking for our granddog!

rubylady Fri 16-Dec-16 05:55:34

Aw, bless. Merry Christmas too Toby. X

Our two girl cats are quite unmoved by anything really, except maybe some festive gammon. Harry the kitten loves the little furry toys with catnip, saves him chasing his sisters so they get a rest too.

I'm buying my granddog a red coat . I don't usually get him anything other than a treat bag but he was very ill in the summer and nearly died. He'd been caught rummaging in the kitchen bin and weeks later he became ill , emergency surgery pulled out a rotten corn on the cob , it hadn't travelled through him but got stuck . He was minutes away from death due to toxins . He's much quieter now , he's lost a bit of his bounce so I want to keep him cosy - he's going to look gorgeous in his coat , he's a large black lab.
Merry Christmas Toby .

So, what Christmas pressies is Father Christmas bringing the fur, feathers or fins in your home?

My little girl has a couple of fetch soft toys and some food treats to open. The budgies have some millet and a new toy with bells on and the hamster has a new toy and some new food treat, but then he is only a baby and a little darling. He has had a new cage this last week too, now he lives in a mansion! Next is to get the budgies a bigger one too. My little girl has had a new bed and new pink fur coat already. tchsmile
