CARER just killed my cats
(52 Posts)There's a carer that comes twice a day for 10 minutes a time to an old couple a few doors down from here. Here is a cul-de-sac, 10 terraced bungalows on one side, rear of houses other side, very narrow, with kids, dogs and cats about. And the birch ran over and killed my beautiful cats AND laughed. I wish I could kill HER
I found all her posts too but only after trying a couple of times ..numeral/letter at the end.
Ok it doesn’t do that for me so not sure why the discrepancy I put the name in the search box and it comes up with just this thread only.... I wonder how it can show different things for different people ??? Weird, however genuine poster or not there is something strange about the post how does a car staring up in a cul de sac kill more than one cat ( cats are normally quick as lightening at the noise associated with a car starting up ) and however upset you are do you really post that you want to kill the person in capital letters ?
Miep1, what a horrible thing to happen. We have lots of cats on our little street, including ours, and would be mortified if one of them ended up killed or hurt by our car. Did the carer ever explain her reaction? I really hope it wasn't as you first thought.
Now you have all finished being nasty, while my carer and are were in bits (and still are to an extent), I'll explain a little more. The cats were called Fish and Littlewhitething and were about 4 years old. We have had them both from kittens - their mother, another of our cats has since sadly died of leukemia - and LWT was so-called because he was white and not very large. Fish was a beautiful dark grey, with a tiny, tiny patch of white on her tummy; so named because when she laid in the sun, slightly darker marks showed through, like a mackerel.
I feel sick that anybody would think I made this up. Why would I? We love our cats very, very much.
There are 27 cats that live along, or just behind, this quiet cul-de-sac (2 more quiet cul-de-sacs to be exact) and, as you might expect, they wander around quite freely as almost everybody that comes down these roads is aware that there are cats and children about. That even includes the delivery drivers. We have been here 5 years and NO cat has been run over in that time. Anywhere round here.
We later found out more about what had happened from a friend who happened to have just turned out of our road into the marginally larger one that joins the 3 CDS together, if you can imagine that. The carer came up that road so fast she nearly hit said friend; it seems if she hadn't swerved (Tyre marks on kerbstone prove this) said carer would have hit her car sideways on. So the carer was doing well in excess of 30mph when she turned the corner and hit our two cats. From their positions on the road and the fact that one was barely touched - but equally dead - and the other was like a bag of jelly when I picked her up, she must have glanced LWT and run right over Fish. A neighbour three doors down saw this. He came running to our (open) front door, yelling and I was outside within a minute to see the Carer pull up 20yds away. She got out of the car and said 'I think I might have hit your cats' : MIGHT even though the evidence was just behind her! I yelled something and she disappeared into the house where the cared-for live, laughing. Is that graphic enough? Do you still think I am a troll or making things up? FFS get a grip, people report sad things on here that relate to their lives and if it's a child or a dog, sympathy comes pouring out like the Thames. But my 2 cats? Oh no, they're a laughing matter. Look at their pictures and have a good giggle.
Perhaps if you’d been able to answer some of the earlier questions people might not have assumed you were a troll.
Quite frankly, there are people who WOULD make up such things .
I’m sorry for your loss , that’s the trouble with cats - they do range freely and are susceptible to becoming traffic casualties. It sounds like a callous incident.
Actually, I couldn't reply. Small matter of being in hospital; nothing too serious.
mpiel has been a poster on GN for quite a while nanandgrampie so can’t imagine why anyone should think her anything otherwise.
Am so sorry to hear about your cats, and think you should definitely report her behaviour, callous beyond belief.
Incidentally, thanks to all who commiserated. It did help, until the usual nastiness set in. The matter of Miep/Miep 1 is easily explained ; I forgot which one I was when entering a competition, so just carried on. M
iep, whether Miep or
Miep 1, take your pick, is pictured below, He's fine. AndI am littlewhitething on Mumsnet if you want to go and nosey round there.
Hi Miepl, you must be heartbroken at the loss of your lovely cats and the cruel reaction of this "carer!!!!!!" woman.
She sounds like a lunatic, driving at speed on a small cul-de-sac. What if a child has been in the road or one of the older residents crossing? She needs reporting so someone can have a word with her about her dangerous driving. Find out where she works and get your carer to let her employers know what has happened. (Hopefully they will be cat lovers).
Hope Karma steps in for her!
Miep1 I'm truly sorry to read that you have lost both cats and that the carer is quite obviously totally uncaring. Of course you are distressed. Any one of us with a much loved pet would feel as you do.
Bambam's suggestion is spot on.
I’m sorry to hear you were in hospital OP .
That’s the trouble with the online world - too many trolls not enough real people sometimes, I do understand how people can be suspicious in some situations .
I didn’t think anything Lemongrove , although I didn’t recognise the OP ,I just asked a relevant question .
I apologise Miep1 but I was one who certainly thought it was made up we have had many like this where a poster says something very dramatic and then disappears to watch us all commenting it’s far from unheard of ..... So I hold my hands up and say I m sorry for not believing you and now you have explained more it’s quite clear it’s not a wind up and along with others I ll say how sorry I feel for you
I don’t think my post was ‘usual nastiness’ as you call it but yes it was disbelieving because there was little to go on (which has now been explained in your later post) and also for your sentence that you wanted to kill the carer
I hope you have reported this lady and something is done about it
Miep1, everything about that is absolutely terrible.
If it was an unavoidable accident, it would be bad enough. The woman was callous towards you and was clearly driving dangerously.
I hope you can report her to her employer, as she could so easily have injured your friend or someone else, as well as the cats.
(Even if you don't know her name, the employer will know who it was on that date and time.)
I'm so sorry this has happened.
She has been reported. Her car was also covered in dents, which to my mind spells ill luck or bad driving. You decide.
I am so sorry Miep1, what a terrible thing to have happened. If such a callous and preventable thing had happened to any of our cats I would have been devastated. And wanted retribution. I agree with FarNorth, that awful woman should be reported to her employers.
I hope you are recovering from your stay in hospital. Recovering from the loss of Fish and LWT will no doubt take longer.
That's very very sad my heart goes out to you . I too wasn't sure because it was two cats ! But from your post you can tell your heartbroken .Bless you . Carer obviously not very caring x
So sorry to hear about the loss of your cats in such a careless and thoughtless way, I sympathise having had a cat that was run over I was very upset about it. I'm a great lover of cats, unfortunately don't have one at the moment.
Wishing you well after your hospital stay [flowrs]
Miep1 how absolutely awful. We cat owners are always concerned about losing our cats to being run over but to lose two together outside your home is shocking.
Please look after yourself , you will be in shock for a while so be kind to yourself .
I truly hope that person gets charged for dangerous driving as it could so easily have been a human being she knocked down and killed.
So very sorry that such an awful thing has been done. I lost my lovely little kitten on the road recently ... he was only 18 months old, I know it's heartbreaking. It's worse for you of course due to the circumstances.
People didn't mean to doubt you, it's just that there have been some weird fake posts and people weren't sure.
It would have to be reported to the police, for her to be charged.
Her employer is unlikely to do that, so Miep1 or another neighbour would have to do it.
Miep1 I'm so sorry.
The 'carer' sounds uncaring and callous. In no way excusing her but suspect her dangerous driving could be a product of her timetable. 2 x 10 minutes isn't much care for the couple she goes to.
so very sorry to read that you have lost your cats this way
Sorry to hear about this, and now that we know the details I can understand why you were upset and angry. I don't think there was any nastiness on here though, just a few ( myself included) who suspected a troll, if you have been here for a while, you will understand. Sorry about your cats, you must report this person to her employer.
