CARER just killed my cats

There's a carer that comes twice a day for 10 minutes a time to an old couple a few doors down from here. Here is a cul-de-sac, 10 terraced bungalows on one side, rear of houses other side, very narrow, with kids, dogs and cats about. And the birch ran over and killed my beautiful cats AND laughed. I wish I could kill HER

I am very very sorry for your sad loss. Of course accidents happen but that is an appalling reaction.
When you have calmed down a very FIRM letter to her employers, whether private or NHS and perhaps Twitter/Facebook publicity too.
sad

Do not know how to react to this. What happened was dreadful but your response seems to me to be almost as bad.

MissAdventure Fri 06-Oct-17 12:45:38

Has it just happened? 2 cats?

lemongrove Fri 06-Oct-17 12:48:30

miepl what kind of person laughs when told they have killed animals, even by accident? Shudder.
Contact social services right away to name and shame her.

Very emotional responses ...

IF OP is positive that a) the Carer did it and b) that she was fully aware and that she laughed about this as a fact - not about something else while perhaps being oblivious for example, then yes, I think you should trace who the carer is through her employers as a first port of call when seeking some form of redress.

I think we sometimes need to be careful with posts that we don't encourage someone to 'react' in a certain way when they may be still processing - and we cannot be in possession of all the facts.

The fact that her poor cats have just been run over gives her the absolute right to vent on here. Her pain right now is unimaginable to anyone who is not an animal lover. I'm so sorry to hear this awful news. flowers

How did she run over your cats? Cats are not daft and usually run for it if they are under your car etc?

lemongrove Fri 06-Oct-17 16:59:29

NanaandGrampy, cats are run over all the time!We have lost three this way in the past.

I'm so sorry, Miepl. What a terrible thing to happen. Vent your grief and anger on here. How are you feeling now?

Is this a wind up ?
Yes of course cats get killed in fast traffic on roads but a cul de sac and a car just starting up and more than one cat at the same time and laughing , ....it all sounds very strange to me

lemongrove Fri 06-Oct-17 17:14:56

It sounds strange, but strange things do happen sometimes.

merlotgran Fri 06-Oct-17 17:34:55

How many cats?

ninathenana Fri 06-Oct-17 18:09:00

Two cats at the same time hmm

GillT57 Fri 06-Oct-17 18:59:24

Did she realise she had killed the cats? Does seem odd, two cats at once, my cat lazes about in the middle of our very quiet road, but dashes off when a car appears. Sorry about losing your cats, but I think you need to be absolutely sure about what actually happened, the laughing may have been at what someone had just said, or something she heard on the radio. It is a serious accusation and one you need to be certain of; maybe speak to the clients she visits and get the name of the agency that employs their carer and call them, but when you are calm and collected. Hysterical accusations and death threats will not get you any sympathy or make her employers willing to deal with this in the proper way. Sorry about your cats flowers

This is an awful story, I had a cat that was run over, a few years ago, but I know how upset I was at the time. Just wondering about cats in the plural though, and laughing afterwards sounds very callous for a carer confused

nigglynellie Sat 07-Oct-17 17:42:34

If this incident actually happened then I would certainly report this carer to her employers. But two cats at the same time in a narrow quiet cul-de-sac sounds a bit odd to me! She must have been driving far to quickly and irresponsibly and her reaction sounds very weird!

BlueBelle Sat 07-Oct-17 17:56:08

I feel this is a wind up
It doesn’t say two cats it just says cats in the plural so it could be a whole family of cats for all we know
Unless poster comes back I m guessing it was put on to draw a big reaction

nigglynellie Wed 11-Oct-17 16:55:15

I think you're right BlueBelle!!!!

phoenix Wed 11-Oct-17 17:14:47

I agree, BlueBelle, it's the cats, plural, that makes me a bit hmm

Elegran Wed 11-Oct-17 17:46:56

It sounds a little like that headline, "Freddie Starr ate my hamster" (which was certainly a made-up story)

Nannacat Wed 11-Oct-17 18:02:43

Think your right BlueBelle ! Little sad either way !!

Riverwalk Wed 11-Oct-17 18:13:33

The OP has posted before - maybe she's still too upset to return, especially as a couple of responses were unsympathetic.

whitewave Wed 11-Oct-17 18:15:08

hmm

BlueBelle Wed 11-Oct-17 19:13:46

Riverwalk if you put the posters name in the search box this is the only thing that comes up for her/him
