Tegan, I’m so sorry. I still cry for Alice every day but got my new pup after only 2 months as life without a dog was utterly miserable.

Tegan so sorry for you. I'm still having a weep 6 weeks after losing our very special pet x

I don think oldmeg I could go through that pain again!

14werelucky Sat 31-Mar-18 18:00:47

omg I would love a king Charles puppy if we didn't go away so much have owned them.

We've been tied down so much over the past few years ( I even refused a trip to Australia because I wouldn't leave her for three weeks) that there are things I need to do; friends that haven't been visited etc. Also, I'm on a very small pension and even the insurance takes up a huge chunk of it. Something will happen in some way; a lost soul will find it's way to me!

Very sad for those who have lost their dogs, I know how much that hurts.

I’m thinking of fostering too Tegan - trouble is all those I know who do foster can’t akways hand all of them over to a new home ???

Oh tegan I cry for you! It is utterly unbearable to lose your dear friend. Give yourself time to grieve. You will almost certainly change your mind in the months/weeks to come.

sad

We lost Hattie yesterday (kidneys had failed). But she left this world lying on her cushion looking out over the garden in Bamburgh; her favourite place in the world. Would have been 11 tomorrow. She's been on borrowed time for a long time, but it doesn't make it any easier. Thankfully, the family are staying with us, so we have to put on a brave face for the boys. Not sure where we go from here. I've not been without a dog for 40 years, and the emptiness in the house is tangible. I may do some fostering for a while.....if there's a doggie heaven, that's where she is, because there wasn't a nasty bone in her body....

Teetime lovely pic.

lilypollen Sat 31-Mar-18 15:47:17

watermeadow gorgeous. Our boy was a pug and if Polly has all the traits she'll totally rule the roost. Love and enjoy her.

This is DH with a our beautiful Golden Retriever sadly missed!! as is DH's dark hair and beard - all snowy now.

MrsJamJam Tue 27-Mar-18 08:39:27

I am coming over all broody! Our boy is nearly 5 now and we sometimes wonder about getting a pup before he is too old because a dogless house is too awful to contemplate. Just love that puppy smell!

Oh Watermeadow she is just gorgeous!!!

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 19:01:49

Thank you blimey she’s tiny

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 19:00:58

Oh oh oh watermeadow photo needed!!

First night we hardly had any sleep as it is so hard for the pups having been taken away from everything they’ve ever known. Started by putting him in a holding cage in our bedroom. He cried so much we got too upset and so he was let out never to return and slept by the side of the bed nuzzling our hand. He now has his bed in the bedroom and spends all night totally happy and content on his back - legs in the air.

What a lovely time you are going to have??

watermeadow Mon 26-Mar-18 18:54:33

Here’s Polly

watermeadow Mon 26-Mar-18 18:51:00

On my lap is the puppy I brought home yesterday. She was born on the day my beloved Cavalier died two months ago.
I wanted a rescue dog, I said I’m too old for a pup and they’re such hard work, but I couldn’t find what I wanted. So here’s Polly, the cutest baby pug cross. I love her already and my cat doesn’t mind her because she’s teeny weeny.

We lost out dog on February 8th in 2009 and got our new pup on October 5th 2009.

Feel for you also lily lost our Molly late last year, still keep having a weep..still keep thinking she's here, pulling doors shut behind me so she doesn't run out, looking behind me when am moving away from the sink so that I don't fall over her etc etc really miss having a dog..keep looking online at rescue homes but just not quite sure yet...

Bathsheba Sat 24-Mar-18 01:12:42

Oh lily that’s tough, I do feel for you. Losing a much loved pet is so hard to bear flowers

lilypollen Fri 23-Mar-18 21:47:03

Thank you Whitewave, he's the third dog we've had but has hit us hardest. Happy memories but it's still raw.

whitewave Fri 23-Mar-18 20:53:09
