I know we helped nina (or not!) so I am hoping you can help us as we are stuck for a name for the kitten we are keeping. She was born in June

I will continue to try taking a photo of her but she is a short haired, dark tabby with white bib and wellies.

We have two other cats - an all black male born during the Rugby World Cup - his name is Kiwi.

The kitten's Mum was born in May and is, therefore, called Maisie.

Please help - inspiration has dried up in the Lester household.

Once upon a long time ago I used to show and (in a very small way) breed Siamese.
They each had a forename... the breeders registered prefix, of which I was very proud....plus beautiful registered names which I spent hours devising.
They answered to the likes of "Ditz" "Beebs" and " Muss" (as in puss)
???

Does anyone else not use the name they chose for their cat smile
H greets Bertie with 'hello puss' if we are calling him in at night we just do the persed lips sucking air thing.
Our previous cat was already named Skye when we got her and we didn't change it but H would call her Madam.
kitty I think whatever name you choose baby will stick smile

Betty? Lizzie? Hetty? Elsie?

Our lovely girl was born with a bent-over crumpled ear (which is why we chose her), she is called Crinkle.

My dad called me Topsy. It was also the name of MiL’s dog. We both used to answer to it grin

The name I suggested earlier (Pixie) would not suit a fully grown cat! So I withdraw that suggestion! I used to have a cat called Sophocles - hmm I know, but I inherited him! He was generally known as Soppy, so you can imagine how I sounded calling him in at night. If I'd had another cat, I'd have called him/her Parker, from the Swahili Mpaka. And cats are nosy characters aren't they? But I couldn't have a cat now, living, as I do, on a very busy road. sad.

grin or Brexkit

lemongrove Sun 05-Aug-18 14:10:16

How about Brexit?

lemongrove Sun 05-Aug-18 14:09:50

How about a name from politics kitty grin
Larry and Palmerston are the Number ten and eleven cats.
Disraeli ( Dizzy for short?) Balfour, Or to be up to date Corbin ( new spelling, all cats like bins).May....as the kitten is female. Or Bo-Jo ?

My parents cat was called Baby for all the above reasons Kitty!

We are just in the process of homing five kittens and, though we tried not to name them, of course it didn't work! So we have Solo, Beelzebub, Trouble, Scat and Battypuss. Our normal cats are Asbo, Alcopop, Mardi Gras, Cornflake, Miep, Dynamo and Tablet. We always end up with odd names!

kittylester Sun 05-Aug-18 10:54:05

marmight, we have a dgd called Persie!

Anniebach Sun 05-Aug-18 10:49:27

The most famous screen cat must surely be the one in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, but calling a cat ‘Cat’ ? Think not,

We bought our younger daughter a kitten when she was 4, it was born on St,David’s Day, the breeder named her Daffodil, my husband said - no way was he going into the garden calling ‘Daffodil’ so younger daughter chose Topsy.

kitty .... have you considered Bailey??

MrsAllboys Sun 05-Aug-18 10:20:26

[Kitty] it sounds to me that her name is destined to be 'Baby'. She's very sweet looking so it will suit her. Although I do like Juney Purr, it's clever and appropriate.

phoenix Sun 05-Aug-18 10:19:43

kitty if your DH seems stuck on Baby, perhaps a slight change to make it Bibi, although can't say it would be my choice!

Horton1828 Sun 05-Aug-18 10:13:22

Gemima..... she is just so precious x

Marmight Sun 05-Aug-18 09:59:03

A stray cat took up residence with us. I didn't want to name it in case the owner appeared so it became Pussy. Months passed, the cat stayed and DD1 began to talk. She could only say Persy. So he became Percy only he, apparently, wasn't a he .....she never did get a proper name and reverted to Pussy in later life confused

baubles Sun 05-Aug-18 09:23:07

M for Molly.

kittylester Sun 05-Aug-18 09:08:08

I suggested Bella until we remembered the dog over the road is called that. grin

chicken Sun 05-Aug-18 09:04:57

What about Bella--because she is beautiful? And it's an easy name to call.

kittylester Sun 05-Aug-18 08:39:06

Dh is still calling her 'Baby' angry

ninathenana Sun 05-Aug-18 08:15:49

I see several people have said Juno after phoenix first suggested it.
That gets my vote.
