What shall we call our new kitten?

I know we helped nina (or not!) so I am hoping you can help us as we are stuck for a name for the kitten we are keeping. She was born in June

I will continue to try taking a photo of her but she is a short haired, dark tabby with white bib and wellies.

We have two other cats - an all black male born during the Rugby World Cup - his name is Kiwi.

The kitten's Mum was born in May and is, therefore, called Maisie.

Please help - inspiration has dried up in the Lester household.

New one here, Willa.

After reading (and giggling) through the other posters I came to the picture. She's very cute.
My suggestion is Whisper.

Granjan06 Your mention of the name Barney brought to mind my neighbours who named their, allegedly male puppy Barney. On finding that He was actually She they amended it to Barney-Elizabeth!

Many years ago my daughter wanted to call her kitten Genesis, because she liked their records. I said that no way would I go outside shouting, “Genesis. Where are you?” She finally compromised with Whitney, after Whitney Houston.

Phoenix - yes you were there first!!

grannybuy Sat 04-Aug-18 20:47:55

Our tabby was called Topsy.

etheltbags1 Sat 04-Aug-18 20:44:15

I called one of mine Clootie Dumplin. I miss her so much

Or, sticking with the "W" theme, Winnie, so that when you're emptying the litter tray, you can say "Oh, Winnie, the poo"

I'll get me coat..................as they used to say on a certain sketch show.

Ok, just had a better look at the photo (on my new, much bigger tablet!) and like many tabbies, she does indeed have an "M" on her head.

Now, of course, viewed from behind, an "M" becomes a "W", which made me think "Wombat" confused

However, still think Juno is good, and seems to be popular with many GN members!

Caro57 ahem, blush I had included in my first post of suggestions, but having seen the photo, she doesn't look like a Ceefa, or even a Ceefur!

And sorry, Brigidsdaughter I had already suggested Juno, too!

Brigidsdaughter Sat 04-Aug-18 19:49:32

JUNO. As in Juno and the Paycock... an old play set in Dublin

PECS Sat 04-Aug-18 19:46:56

Willow as in Pussy willow or Catkin ..does she have a fluffy tail like a catkin?

Caro57 Sat 04-Aug-18 19:35:30

Ceefa - as in ‘c’ for cat

annsixty Sat 04-Aug-18 18:53:35

Oh I really want to win the kitten so my name for yours is Kateycat. Katy for short.

phoenix Sat 04-Aug-18 18:04:16

Yes, do consider the "standing on the step calling" thing.

That is why one of our cats that we "acquired" (another story, but wine was involved blush) was renamed Lily.

Mr P just couldn't see himself shouting "Spunky, Spunky, are you coming in?"

Juno -

A daughter of Saturn, she is the wife of Jupiter and the mother of Mars, Vulcan, Bellona and Juventas. She is the Roman equivalent of Hera, queen of the gods in Greek mythology;

I knew as soon as I went to pick my Oliver that it would be his name,he is now known locally as Oliver the Great as he is such a big lump of a cat.
For a she cat I like the name Bubbles easy to call and the males in your family will not object to calling her in.

Jalima1108 Sat 04-Aug-18 16:12:36

And does the winning GNer get a prize?
Yes, a kitten!! grin

However, DH would say 'It's the cat or me'

grannyqueenie Sat 04-Aug-18 16:07:27

What a cute kitten, I’d opt for Clara!
