Cat intruder

We had a stranger visitor too, even with our own spaniel. I remember having to heard our lot back from the flap whilst I let the intruder out and gave him time to get away. Hope your cat isn’t upset by it, maybe the other one was just curious. (Did you see the April Fool about a cat flap being fitted to Number 10?)

As you may have noticed, watermeadow, I'm dealing with a similar intruder at the moment.

Your cat, if he is anything like mine, won't be upset: he will be fighting mad. Mine was eating his dinner last time the intruder showed up. I have never heard a cat hiss so loudly, the intruder must have hit the ground in spots on the way out, because he was gone before I got to the door.

I've lived here 33 years and in that time I've had 3 stranger cats who would just come and go as they pleased. My own cats back then tolerated them - one (I still have) treated the last one as a great friend. The only time we had a problem was when a different one came in and sat unseen on the dining room chair - a lot of hissing from one of mine ensued and we finally discovered the intruder - he was black as coal so well hidden. I don't know who was more shocked me, him or the cat who discovered him.

You can get cat flaps which will only open via the micro chip but they have to push harder - neither of mine now would understand and I'd have to open the door for them
