I am not a dog person and I get cross thinking of money spent on frivolous stuff like this while 1/3 of British children are living in poverty and there is a homelessness crisis.

I've already said I wouldn't do something like this - but surely it's up to each individual how they wish to spend their money? If people can afford it, it's up to them - there's obviously a demand for it as they get booked up weeks in advance. And how do you know these people don't also donate to charities for needy children or the homeless?

Well said ViceVersa I’m not a dog or cat person, but know they bring joy to so many people. To these owners I say carry on if spoiling your pet brings you joy.

Although I watched a "Hotel at Christmas" type documentary last week where the hotel restaurant had an "A la bark" menu for dogs - doggie got to sit up at the table and was served 0.5kg/1 lb of Sirloin steak!

All these things are for the owners. So long as the dogs are not upset by it, bonkers as it is, I say go for it.

Many dogs play such an important role in people’s lives, I say live & let live. Hohoho

My dog is too old to believe in Santa. He'd be very interested in being taken to meet an Easter Bunny though.
