Your dog to see Santa Paws? 🐾🎄

I saw someone asking on SM where they could take their pet as it was their first Christmas.

I've heard it all now.

😂😂😂

Our local Dobbies garden centre has had a Santa Paws thing for several years now and it's always booked out weeks in advance. I find it all a bit daft myself, but it's obviously very popular and makes money!

My friend always holds a birthday party for her dog at a local dog cafe. He gets presents, a cake and Happy Birthday 'sung' by dofs. My friend enjoys it. I imagine the dog is bemused.

All these things are for the owners. So long as the dogs are not upset by it, bonkers as it is, I say go for it.

Many dogs play such an important role in people’s lives, I say live & let live. Hohoho

I agree, live and let live but I can't help feeling there are a lot of people out there with more money than sense.
(I woke up today in Grumpy Old Woman mode. Does it show?😅)

I doubt I shall take my grand dog but I do buy her a present.

crazyH Tue 02-Dec-25 18:26:16

Heard it all now 😫

TwiceAsNice Tue 02-Dec-25 20:40:19

We buy our cats a present and some treats to eat . Don’t know about Santa though that sounds a bit daft

Beechnut Tue 02-Dec-25 21:19:11

We bought a present for our cat. I even made a stocking for our last one and bought her a book called Carols for Cats. It’s quite funny.

I've heard it all now.

It’s everywhere. One local shop sells doggy flapjack. There’s dog ice cream too. I can’t believe that this type of thing can be any good for the dogs. Why can’t people just treat their dogs just as dogs instead of indulging in all this nonsense.

Nanny27 Wed 03-Dec-25 15:22:41

Totally agree with Skydancer. We love our two labs dearly but they are definitely dogs not children and are treated as such. The only concession is a Christmassy bandana which each wears on Christmas day.

As if there wasn’t enough pressure on our expenditure?!?!

I must admit to once giving a birthday party for my cat, but it was just an excuse to throw a party! I came across instructions to make 'mouse cakes' - fairy cakes decorated to look like mice.
The next day any left over cakes were taken to church and given to the children. It was definitely a 'one off'!

we have a stray cat that visits when he's hungry, I have ordered him a special treat for his xmas dinner, and I always give my daughter's cat and dog a treat at xmas,,,but as to doggy Santa visit...no no

last weekend i took my little rescue dog to a local farmers place that was doing a meet Santa promotion. the idea was to see him you bought something from them to donate to a local rescue for dogs then you got to see Santa. my dog is a bit timid but he did not mind! it only cost a few treats for local dogs home so i thought a good idea

StoneofDestiny Wed 03-Dec-25 17:39:32

I saw that at a garden centre and thought fools and their money are easily parted. Whatever next in dog land?

That makes two of us!

WithNobsOnIt Wed 03-Dec-25 18:31:47

God help us.

Just give your dog a extra special, meaty, juicy bone for Christmas Dinner.

That would be.plenty in my books.

Compliments of the Season all spoilt doggies!

Much as I love animals to me its sounds a bit silly .
But if it makes the owners happy then OK.
Better to donate money to an animal charity .
The craziest thing that I heard of is the lady who decided to mate her dog with a bitch or in her words her dog with a lady dog .
Prior to the mating she had an engagement party and then a wedding .
The dogs wore costumes.

I’m a dog person but Santa paws is not on my agenda . My dogs get a birthday and Christmas present , usually a new toy . And that’s it . They’re dogs not humans .

Mojack26 Wed 03-Dec-25 22:46:25

Yes!🤣. And glad I did,as I lost him a few moths later..😭 I have a lovely pic of him with Santa.People who don't have dogs, pets, do not understand.
