World Cup predictions please....

So - rules are there are no rules, no insider footballer info needed - it's just who you think will win, lose or draw - like Paul the octopus in the last World Cup - this is using the brilliance of gransnetters (and CariGransnet's goldfish - named Goldie, of course) to predict who will win the World Cup.

Every morning we post the fixtures for that day for you to post your predictions.

You'll get a point for each correct prediction (win, lose or draw) and for those with a competitive streak, there will be a bonus points option suggested for the day, so you 'fancy' up your entry <ooh>

Every morning we will update our leaderboard, however you're more than welcome to join in at whatever stage. Obviously there's less chance of winning if you join in half-way, unless you're a pro and take part in the bonus rounds!

There will be a mystery prize for the gransnetters with the most points at the end of the World Cup (13 July).

Let the games commence! Post below if you'll be taking part from Thursday.

Pittcity Sat 14-Jun-14 09:28:59

Today I am going for Columbia and Uruguay to win and England to draw with Italy.

I have added our favourite Italian pasta recipe with a few typos.

Does Columbian blend coffee count as I could give you a good recipe for that? brew

Maggiemaybe Sat 14-Jun-14 10:46:16

Colombia to win
Uruguay to win
England v Italy to draw

Well, I'm not doing so well with the football punditry (the wooden spoon beckons), so I'll add me a couple of points with my cooking skills.

May I offer an Italian recipe and a Greek one. Both simple and lazy, like myself. I'm afraid I've nothing to offer from Uruguay or Costa Rica.

Pittcity Sat 14-Jun-14 12:04:19

I have wiped the grease off of our family recipe scrapbook and unstuck the pages to find our favourite garlic ridden Greek Easter Lamb recipe

maggiemaybe remind me next spring about your asparagus soup as we had loads in the garden last month.

Uruguay/Costa Rica has me stumped for recipes confused
