Hello,

This is the feedback thread for the 20 testers who have received a new YouView TV box and who are currently trying it out in their homes.

YouView say "YouView is a subscription-free television service which seamlessly combines live and catch-up television. The service offers over 70 free to air channels and radio stations via a TV aerial and also connects to any broadband service to bring catch-up and on demand programmes directly to your TV. The TV service, which launched in July 2012, is backed by BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, BT, TalkTalk and Arqiva"

The YouView box allows you to record, pause and rewind TV, as well as featuring BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5.

We'll be asking you to add feedback twice - we'd like your first impressions now and in a couple of weeks we will add some more questions.

So, in terms of your first impressions. please....

- Give your overall impression when it arrived
- Describe the set up: did you set up your YouView box yourself? If not, who did? How easy did you/your DH/DP etc find it to set up your YouView box?
- Tell us which TV is it on/in which room
- Share what you/your family think the first couple of times you used it - what was the best feature and what, if anything, have you struggled with

If you're not a tester, YouView would love to hear from you - for a chance to win a £100 John Lewis voucher please share on this thread the programme(s) you'd love to pause, record or watch again - this could be a programme that's on now, or something special from the last few years or even something from your childhood - the programme which is really special to you and/or your family. Maybe you were on TV as a child and would like to see it again or you want to relive an Olympic moment or even maybe your a massive Corrie fan and want to never miss an episode! Please share this on the thread and you'll be entered into the prize draw.

Thanks,

GNHQ

Please note: The final questions have now been added to the thread on Tues 2 April at 11:31

I'd love to be able to re-watch all the classic Doctor Who episodes. We had a number of them on VHS and have only got a few of our favourites on DVD. There are many I have never even seen once.

shock THE SHINING shock
After watching a documentary on the film, I felt there was so mch I had missed. Clever director Stanley Kubrick has hidden so many little quirks... personally I would need a magifying glass, a seat between sherlock Holmes and the great director him self to point out all the hidden visual effects.

When I was a child I loved The Secret Lives of Waldo Kitty. It was on Saturday Morming before Noel Edmonds. I thought the whie cat Felicia was so glamourous (I had a cuddly toy cat that looked just like her which my daughter now owns some 25 or so years later!). Not many people remember the series and there aren't many clips available on YouTube but I'd love to be transported back to my childhood!

I'd love to watch bother series of Stella again. I usually have to pause my sky+ as I'm crying with laughter so much I miss some. The best bit in the last series was when Daddy died, I was in tears as he was such a loveable character but then Paula's phone rang & it was Daddy ringing from inside the coffin, sheer comedy classic moment

I would LOVE to see a 1982 series called Something in Disguise. It was based on the novel by Elizabeth Jane Howard and had Anton Rogers in the romantic lead!! Absolutely brilliant and I cannot find a DVD! Oh if only..............

LisaSimpson Sun 17-Mar-13 11:43:51

I would like to be able to watch my daughter when she was on Nickelodeon about 14 years ago.

When she was 6 years old, she saved my life! I had an epileptic seizure in the bathroom (my first one) and she found me unconscious on the floor, not breathing and bleeding from my mouth. She immediately rang for an ambulance and they told her what to do while she waited for help to arrive. She was actually on the front page of our local newspaper after that for being a hero - the member of the 999 team that took her call said she was 'very calm and collected for a 6 year old'.

Anyhow, not long after that, she got some tickets to appear on Nickelodeon, and I would love to see her again, playing the games and getting a custard pie in the face! smile

lizliz Sun 17-Mar-13 12:03:03

I would love to see repeats of any James Martin/Delia cookery programmes

Their early one's or their latest one's I wouldn't mind

They're so easy to watch and the recipes almost always work
(apart from those user errors, of course) blush

Coronation Street - I don't want to miss an episode!
