This is the feedback thread for the gransnetters who are testing out DisneyLife

Here’s what DisneyLife has to say, “We’re so excited to launch DisneyLife, which will give the whole family access to its biggest collection of Disney and DisneyPixar movies, Disney Channels TV box sets, books, and music, in one place. Designed to be enjoyed at home or on the go as an iOS or Android app for tablet or mobile, DisneyLife will create magical moments for the family to share: from sing-a-long songs on the way to school; to movie nights at home; children’s TV shows on the move; and enchanting bedtime stories to read with Mum and Dad. For one monthly price of £9.99, DisneyLife will give you instant access to stream thousands of Disney Channels TV episodes, hundreds of movies, albums, and books – plus a free download every month from a selection of fun Disney apps. We’d love to know what Mumsnetters think about the new offering"

My family has always loved 'Kng of the Swingers' from Jungle Book, closely followed by 'I Want to be Like You' from the same film.

The "I know you, I danced with you once upon a dream ..." ending sequence from Sleeping Beauty, with Princess Aurora and Prince Philip.

The old chap in 'Up', is the spitting image of my late Dad.

Well I've downloaded the app and registered and then added all 4 of my grand-kids, and over the Christmas period Ill be installing it on their own devices.

Their ages are 9,6,4 and 20 months.

The first one started using it yesterday and there was huge excitement about it. Its not just the Mickey Mouse content its that it has books and episodes from some of his favourite TV shows .

I liked the fact that there was a choice when selecting a book in one that automatically read to him and one that didn't . We don't always like to read the words but talk about the picture instead.

It was very simple to register , no fields other than those you would expect. Obviously it required financial info which as there is a free one month trial I always dislike because then they have your money if you forget to cancel but to be fair I cant see another way round it .

Anyway , I'll feedback in more depth when all the others have tested it out but I already think its something I like and would probably purchase for them.

Showing my age here but it has to be the Cinderella ball gown changing between pink & blue

Yes it's Pixar but as they are joined with Disney now I'm going to say...

The opening sequence of UP when we first mee Carl and see his life with Ellie always leaves me with a tear in my eye. It's a rollercoaster of emotions within 5 minutes of beautiful animation..that and when Bing Bong tells Joy to take Riley to the moon for him in Inside Out. Both heart-renching yet poignant.

I love The Circle of Life in the Lion King. It brings back great memories of watching a show in The Magic Kingdom in Florida back in 1994 when my children were young. They absolutely loved it and now I love watching the same sequence on DVD with my grandchildren (but alas not in Floria!).

Alidoll Wed 30-Dec-15 10:01:41

And as for Jessie's Song from Toy Story 2...

Pixar just seem to get it right when it comes to portraying emotions

kaela1234 Wed 30-Dec-15 10:12:19

But The Good Dinosaur when Spot and Arlo leave eachother for the last time....so precious yet so sad! I was in floods of tears in the cinema, and I'm 24!

The first time my grandson met Mickey Mouse in Disneyland Paris. Not a film clip but it was truly magical for everyone.

Auntieflo Thu 31-Dec-15 08:54:23

I love Mowgli's 2nd meeting with Kaa when the snake hypnotises him with his 'googly' eyes, and Mowgli is sleepwalking along Kaa's body coils.

Dizlizo12 Thu 31-Dec-15 09:57:40

Can you feel the love tonight from the Lion King

Roxannediane Thu 31-Dec-15 10:12:27

When we went to Disney many years ago little mermaid was my daughter's absolute favourite film and she walked around singing 'I wanna be where the people are' but when we went into the shop at the end she chose Figment the baby dragon as a gift!!

Lunchtimelady1 Thu 31-Dec-15 11:11:20

I'm always moved by the scene in UP where Carl reflects on life with Ellie

TONKATOL Sat 02-Jan-16 20:41:47

My two favourite Disney films of all are Jungle Book and The Lion King and my favourite Disney/Pixar moment of all is in The Lion King where Simba is with Timon and Pumba singing Hakuna Matata and there is a sequence in the song where they walk along a log and, as they go along the log, Simba develops from a lion cub to the King of the Lions - a great way to display the passage of time in a way that child can understand.

I have been trying to install the app on my iPhone for the last 15 minutes, it must be a very big app. Also on the website I still can not add profiles for my children & grandchildren! So far... not a good experience of DisneyLife! I hope it is just teething issues

walkingboot Tue 05-Jan-16 15:21:47

SuzC Wed 06-Jan-16 10:38:04

Non tester.

My all time favourite Disney Moment is from the classic 'Mary Poppins'. It's the 'Step in Time' bit where all the sweeps are dancing & singing on the rooftops. I love the music/song/tune, the tap dancing is amazing. It captivated me as a little girl and I still love it to this day! Magical and practically perfect in every way!!

Miaow1234 Wed 06-Jan-16 16:25:35

granddaughter 3 and grandson 6

They both found there way round the app way with ease and we're excited to see what was on.

they watched a lot of movies they already have on dvd! Also to series such as jake and doc mcstuffin

The content isn't bad but I guess because people have a lot of the movies on dvd already £9.99 is pricey and I don't think worth a monthly cost.

it is a good idea but expensive and nothing is yours after you end subscription.

No I don't think so.
