Dirty habit?

Wee is sterile isn't it? Nothing wrong with weeing in the shower - all traces will be washed away and it saves water you'd other wise use flushing the loo. You probably wash lots of bacteria off your skin and hair as well in the shower.

Can't see a problem. It's just wee and gets washed down the drain by gallons of water and presumably the shower is cleaned regularly. When I was a student in France I had a room in the attic with an en suite basin and bidet and the ghastly, smelly stop and stand loo was down the corridor. I always peed in the bidet! Does that make me a bad person? I don't think so

Can't see the problem - have done it occasionally myself. Sterile (indeed drinkable!) wee is washed away in a fleeting moment by the shower water.

Totally drinkable and can save lives if you’re in a place with no water it only becomes non sterile by being out of the body for a bit ( not sure whether it’s immediate or minutes or what) I d drink mine if had to wouldn’t want to drink anyone else’s though

In my case I get in the shower not necessarily feeling in need of the loo but the running water invites me Glad i m in line with most on here

When there's a toilet next/near to the shower there's no excuse is there ?

I think it's the thought of it rather than the deed which puts you off. What the eye doesn't see the heart doesn't grieve over....

I do everything in the shower each morning wash my hair, clean my teeth and wash if I have a wee all the better a good wash after a wee what more can you want??

I know people who can wee in the sea or behind a bush.
I physically cannot.

It would seem that weeing in the shower was not the only issue or in some cases
non-issue that Mners had regarding DH/DPs

You must have a camels bladder if you go to Australia without using a loo I ll have been about three times in that length of time
Well as you can see by this thread it isn’t a man thing it’s a normal reaction to running water and yes I ve weed in the sea and behind a bush oh er filthy me
If you can hover in a restaurant why can’t you hover in a train boat or plane ? Don’t get it I really don’t .

Many years ago in Ibiza we were warned that there was sometimes jellyfish on a small beach we were visiting . The tour guide said “the best way to deal with a jellyfish sting is to wee on them....this takes the sting away and sterilises the wound”. Needless to say I was badly stung and DH refused to do the honours . Said he wasn’t peeing on my arm in public, thank you very much !

It's no big deal. I do it. It runs away, with the water from the shower. There are nastier habits to have....

When water was very short a few years ago, it was government advice to wee in the shower instead of flushing if my memoryis correct.

Cherrytree, that must make life so difficult for you and restrict either your life or how much you drink (not a good idea). Do you know why you feel like this?

I was not in anyway criticising people for where they choose or need to relieve themselves.

It's not unusual when out on a ramble or just a walk in the countryside to have a bag passed to me while a fellow walker rushes behind a bush,
It doesn't bother me one iota.

And yes I do restrict fluid intake when out and about.
On long walks I take banana or apples and suck mints.

As for a reason I'm not sure but goes back as far as childhood.

cherrytree I think it’s called ‘Safe Toilet Syndrome’.
I’m ok with going behind a bush but like gonegirl wouldn’t dream of going in the shower. Yes water drains away but sometimes it collects at the edge of the shower tray. What’s so hard about having a wee before you get in the shower?
I do have a poop problem though. It preferably has to be my own toilet, or one where I can’t possibly be overheard by anyone else
It does sometimes cause, er, difficulties in hotels or in other people’s houses

I don't see a problem with weeing in the shower. It all goes down the drains anyway....as long as the shower tray is washed well, cleaned and disinfected every time. I pour bleach down the drain hole
