So petty of me in the great scheme of things but....

You are right to ignore them in the future. I certainly found out who are really my friends during the lock down period and those who had just been using me as their social secretary for years.I have nothing to do with the latter now and feel happier for it.

Thank you, everyone for your messages of support. We are all worthy of being treated with respect and it is up to us to make the right choices for ourselves with whom we socialise.

# Update - Great news! I took myself off to the the village hall coffee morning and got chatting to two delightful ladies who have invited me to the flower arranging group. Also chatted to another lady and her husband who are on the local village flower festival committee and they have asked me to be an active member of the group because of my interest in gardening. The point of this update - it is never too late to launch forth and seek new adventures. I came home feeling very happy and nothing like my encounter with my two old friends who were so mean to me the other day. Seek out what suits you. You are worth it!
