So he doesn't go very often. Does it matter? Would it be better if he was a hypocrite and pretended it was more important to him?

I'm not being anti-Royalist here. I'm genuinely interested in what others think.

No! Humanists don't seem to believe in God
Quakers, never understood them? Perhaps I should research.
But the thought of sitting in silence til 'moved by the spirit?'

jeni Wed 16-Jan-13 21:40:10

Oh!
Unless the spirit is vodka?

j07 Wed 16-Jan-13 21:42:06

Same God - the Three in One. He didn't change that bit.

jeni Wed 16-Jan-13 21:48:15

Only defined by Nicea I think

jeni Wed 16-Jan-13 21:51:30

Actually Jing, I've just thought! Where did we get the idea of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) from?

jeni Wed 16-Jan-13 21:52:22

The only references I can find are the baptism and Pentecost!

PC has been having lots of confidentlal meetings with government ministers and they won't tell us what he's been talking about.
There is a lot of concern that he is trying to influence ministers e.g. about promoting so called "alternative medicine" - keeping homeopathic hospitals open etc. Hope qe2 outlives him to be honest.

Jeni
Just had a look at what St Mary's in Exile is doing now. They are still going strong, and i think they are the church for you.

Antidisestablishmentarianism is the longest word in the English language.

I don't know why I said that. It just came to me.

j07 Wed 30-Jan-13 22:06:43

Good one. grin

j07 Wed 30-Jan-13 22:12:30

"Where did we get the idea of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) from?" (quoting jeni)

It's in the "I believe.........." thingie. (not the song)

annodomini Wed 30-Jan-13 22:14:39

Wasn't it the thing that inspired the disciples to speak in tongues at pentecost?

j07 Wed 30-Jan-13 22:14:43

the Catechism! that's it!

j07 Wed 30-Jan-13 22:16:07

Yeah, there was that as well. grin

And the dove fluttering down when John the Baptist baptised Jesus.

he It's all over the place.

j07 Wed 30-Jan-13 22:16:43

What I said there could be very profound. When you think about it. shock

annodomini Wed 30-Jan-13 22:41:17

Don't know the Catechism (not a Presbyterian thing) but it's in the Creed.
