I have just read that there will be an almost total eclipse at 09.30 depending on your area of the UK on Friday 20th March.
Exciting smile

I was lucky enough to watch the 1999 eclipse on a hill between Torquay and Teignmouth . now I shall be lucky enough to watch the 20th of March one in The Outer Hebrides

We were in Lincolnshire in thick fog for the last one - so disappointing!

We were quite awestruck with the silence of the birds the last time there was an eclipse. It was decidedly eerie, we were in the garden and everything just settled quietly for a few moments, our neighbours recorded the drop in temperature, and then things began to come to life again, really very odd at that time of day.

Yes, I remember the birds going quiet too, and a sort of unusual dusk light. Very odd, but I'm glad I saw it and hope to see the one coming up.

I hope these photos work, they are before and after pictures of the eclipse, the clouds sadly kept covering the sun.

Fantastic pictures newist well done and how lucky you were we didn't even get a glimpse the cloud was way too thick.. it did get very dark but sadly not even a glimpse of the Eclipse.
