JosieGransnet. I see there is a Shamrock Emoticon shamrock you've introduced - for just the one day?

I'd like to refer you to your post re. emoticons on Thursday 9th Feb. at 15.51.08 where you mentioned being completely swamped re. doing emoticons,
and there being a 6month wait if the snowflake emoticon was possible. So do I take it that the shamrock is the last one we'll see for quite some while?

At least a snowflake emoticon would last for quite some while, and the sunshine one has been such a success! sunshine
Any chance of 'booking in' a snowflake emoticon for next Christmas??? grin

I'm feeling irritated (moi? - to quote bagitha).

bagitha Sat 17-Mar-12 10:38:55

Bravely said, butty! shamrock sunshine

Carol Sat 17-Mar-12 10:57:32

Ha ha! I sense something in the air this morning. A few of us are just a little bit prickly and missing nothing that we can have a say about! I LOVE Gransnet!! Such good fun smile shamrock

Gally Sat 17-Mar-12 11:03:22

How about working on a thistle, a rose and a leek too? grin

Jacey Sat 17-Mar-12 11:05:01

So ...being even handed and fair GNHQ will supply the emblems for the rest of the UK?? hmm

Carol Sat 17-Mar-12 11:07:03

......GNHQ spluttering as they choke on their cups of tea!.....now what have we gone and done?' hmm

bagitha Sat 17-Mar-12 11:11:47

Indeed, gally! Thistles, ahoy! And roses and leeks [adds quickly].

Jacey Sat 17-Mar-12 11:11:55

Gally you beat me by two seconds!! sunshine

bagitha Sat 17-Mar-12 11:14:55

Do you suppose they're all Irish, those GNHQ-ers?

Butternut Sat 17-Mar-12 11:20:44

Spot on, Carol grin

Yep - Roses, Thistles and Leeks please..........! Well said, Gally.

Carol Sat 17-Mar-12 11:21:40

Not sure, but the Oldie connection has Terry Wogan as a regular - are they keeping him sweet?

Surely nothing to do with him, though grin

Butternut Sat 17-Mar-12 11:26:26

No, of course not Carol - whatever made you think that? wink

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 17-Mar-12 11:29:45

They've just shipped it in from here (this is a link or somewhere similar.

Carol Sat 17-Mar-12 11:35:14

Is that 'lazy journalism?' grin

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 17-Mar-12 11:38:43

It looks like loads of people on the net have tried to find a snowflake one without success. grin

bagitha Sat 17-Mar-12 11:41:33

If they can ship in a shamrock, why can't they ship in other stuff too? hmm

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 17-Mar-12 11:42:54

If we could just work out how to move some of these in....... emoticons

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Sat 17-Mar-12 12:00:11

Alas quite true about being swamped. Fortunately we found a spare shamrock at the back of the Mumsnet cupboard so we were able to nick it when they weren't looking borrow it for 24 hours

Carol Sat 17-Mar-12 12:26:06

....hmmm....!

wotsamashedupjingl Sat 17-Mar-12 12:51:23

If we could just get one snowy one to keep still. Anything to satisfy you-know-who! hmm grin

Butternut Sat 17-Mar-12 13:09:13

I won't give up about a snowflake - they are so beautiful.

grannyactivist Sat 17-Mar-12 23:39:01

As a child I lived in fear of my Irish 'stepfather'; every year he would wear the shamrock and celebrate St.Patrick's Day in the traditional manner i.e. getting drunk off his head. For many years I loathed the shamrock and all it stood for in my memory. And then a wonderful thing happened to redeem both the shamrock and the day.
Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter, born 29 years ago today! shamrock

Carol Sun 18-Mar-12 06:38:46

ga what a lovely way to celebrate! smile

Butternut Sun 18-Mar-12 07:49:52

ga There's always something to find in one's day to make a smile - and I am so pleased you had good reason yesterday. smile

Greatnan Sat 24-Mar-12 10:17:05

I can't find the thread about the snowflake - what would it signify?
