As its less than 3 weeks until the 1st Anniversary of Gransnet 5th May ( I hope thats the correct date, if my memory has not failed me altogether) smile
How are we going to celebrate?

Do we need to start making bunting or baking, any suggestions?????

Ariadne, I hesitate to ask: are you running against the pig? Or are you using 'run' in the sense of 'organise'?

Ariadne Tue 01-May-12 17:54:30

Annobel grin

It's a daft, noisy family fundraising event, with about 80 people, a bar and a tote, in support of a local charity which works with very disturbed children. And it is great fun too. When you're not in charge ...

Some one hollered my name ......evening all nellie has been a party animal for the last two weekends...and have a wedding to go to on saturday but can set up a conference call on my mobile and duet with you soop my vocal chords will be nicely mellowed with champagne early in the day have been practicing at every opportunity and serenaded all the guests on the hen night, standing on a chair dancing, and at the party this weekend a passable performance was given so not letting you down soop will give it my all grin

Annobel Tue 01-May-12 18:38:38

Now all you need is a broomstick, nelllie to be ready for our parties. You gargle with champers? I hadn't thought of that. If suddenly I can sing, you know what I've been up to. grin

nelliedeane Tue 01-May-12 19:21:24

Annobel what would I be doing with the broomstick, think I might fall off with too much gargling. I only gargle with it when it is provided am impoverished and can only afford a £3.99 tesco job....but good news it dosent take long for me to be in fine fettle...I provide cheap entertainment at parties am available for weddings and Bar Mitvahs and gransnets anniversaries owing to the exhibitionist tendancies that I try to hide grin grin

glammanana Tue 01-May-12 22:49:41

Cymbols polished and ready to go the broomstick is out of the garage and had the rear lights fitted and a bell at the front (posh one from halfords) just making sure I have enough jellies for the vodka jellies as I know some GNers are rather partial to them mentioning no names grin we need to arrange a time as I have a few things going on over the week-end and don't want to double book !!!

soop Wed 02-May-12 11:22:04

glamma vodka jellies hmm I'm rather partial! wink Are you giving me a lift on your broomstick? If so, ring the bell when you land in the drive. I shall wear my thermal knickers as the wind is a chilly easterly. Been sorting through the wardrobe for an outrageous outfit...a toss up twixt silver lurex jumpsuit and a spangled mini skirt worn with a cropped, off the shoulder top and white, knee-high Abba-style boots. What do think? As you know, I like to err on the side of "classy" grin

glassortwo Wed 02-May-12 11:29:31

soop I am thinking the jumpsuit may be a little warmer wink
I am off to the post office just realised its Wednesday Half Day, then Nursery catch you later x

soop Wed 02-May-12 11:32:49

glass Thanks for helping to make my mind up. Lurex jumpsuit it is grin

glammanana Wed 02-May-12 12:12:18

Soop don't forget your goggles those sparkley ones that look similar to Dame Edna's you will need them as I am a bit of a speed queen when it comes to motorways grin

soop Wed 02-May-12 12:20:32

glamma okay! I've a special pair that have flashing lights - red for starboard and green for port. Can't be too careful when it comes to knowing your right from your left. I could get myself into a right spin and finish up at a right riot of a party [so unlike the ones that we're familiar with] grin

Notsogrand Wed 02-May-12 12:47:50

Just catching up with this thread after a very silly week when the hands of the clock have been going around too fast!!
I can't get to the party (will be at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London at Mama Mia!) but will be thinking of you all.
I've recorded a few old uns but good uns onto a cd with my ukelele. I've rolled up several metres of knitted bunting ready to post. A batch of strangely happy fairy cakes with a certain special ingredient are cooling as I type. I'll send the whole lot off to Grass oops, sorry, to Glass, for her to bring to the party.

Just off to practice Dancing Queen lyrics and funky moves now.

glassortwo Wed 02-May-12 12:53:34

Oh we will miss you notso but you will have a fab time bopping to Mama Mia lots of love grass grin
