I know Bags is after a crescent moon for the Quiet corner/nite, nite thingy!

Which would be good smile

But what about the Union flag ...for Queen's Jubilee ... Olympics...-Para-Olympics??? I know some GNetters are not going to follow these events, buts lots of us will be!! [pride] emoticion

Then I think we ought to have a 'wooden spoon' emoticion ...I think some of us would get a lot od use out of this one!! grin

What does anyone else think??

Anagram Sun 20-May-12 13:59:09

I agree with all those ideas, Jacey, but for some reason additional emoticons very rarely materialise. (Snowflake emoticon, anyone...grin).

Bags Sun 20-May-12 14:01:50

What's a wooden spoon emoticon for, jacey? somebody else will be as baffled as I am so I'm asking for them as well. smile

Bags Sun 20-May-12 14:02:18

Oh wait!

For stirrers?

jeni Sun 20-May-12 14:09:32

Of coursegrin jing should have a giant one grin

glammanana Sun 20-May-12 14:10:17

My friend and I where always the winner's of "The Wooden Spoon" at the local pub quiz it was presented to the team who came last in the quiz sad

Jacey Sun 20-May-12 14:12:15

Yes ...but she certainly wouldn't be the only one grin ...and she'd only get it "in good fun " grin

Yes ...have never understood GNHQ's comment about 'not enough room' ...just make a third column!! wink

Anagram Sun 20-May-12 14:38:13

Or carry them on under the Links paragraph....

Butternut Sun 20-May-12 15:58:52

Anagram - Are you eluding to me? grin re. the snowflake!
Wooden spoon for you...............although I WAS successful with the sunshine!

Jacey Sun 20-May-12 16:01:42

Yes Butternut ...you were more successful than me ...in a previous life I asked for a 'can't stop laughing' one ...without success!!

Bags Sun 20-May-12 16:06:10

I guess it depends on Tech's priorities. Maybe there are lots of more urgent things for Tech to do. Or maybe there aren't enough Techs. You'd think we could be told though. It would be appreciated.

Butternut Sun 20-May-12 16:06:46

...and I haven't given up on the Snowflake one, either. Just waiting..........!wink

Bags Sun 20-May-12 16:07:29

Mind you, we have been told that he/she/it was very busy. I guess we just have to lump it.

But we can keep trying smile

Butternut Sun 20-May-12 16:08:47

I seem to remember there's only one Tech. B - or that was the 'snowflake' excuse, anyway......

jeni Sun 20-May-12 16:16:11

I think tech is someone's husband!

Anagram Sun 20-May-12 16:17:31

I don't see why we can't import our own emoticons - they let us put links up.

Bags Sun 20-May-12 16:51:08

Only one Tech assigned to gransnet, perhaps. Mumsnet have got a biscuit.

Bags Sun 20-May-12 16:51:25

It looks like a jammie dodger.

Bags Sun 20-May-12 16:52:07

Not that I want a biscuit, of course. Just sayin'.

Bags Sun 20-May-12 17:12:36

I'm never argumentative, as you all know wink, so this is just for mischief. According to this site, it's perfectly acceptable for common or garden non-sailors to call the union flag the union jack.

What a relief!

jeni Sun 20-May-12 17:29:00

Hmph! It's NOT CORRECT I repeat very loudlyITS NOT RIGHT!

Bags Sun 20-May-12 17:38:29

Oh, I agree grin. I only said it was 'acceptable' for use by the hoi polloi wink. After all, it's what people say, right or wrong. It will become right through ignorant usage like many another incorrect thing in our language.

Jacey Sun 20-May-12 18:08:00

How true Bags! wink

jeni Sun 20-May-12 18:51:06

H,ph! I'm going to go and sulk! (what are these young things coming to, with their loose use of language? Mutter! Mutter!)

Bags Sun 20-May-12 19:10:52

grin
