I left the annual income blank, as there wasn't an option to opt out. I don't think it's relevant.

mrshat Mon 01-Oct-12 18:31:25

Done it! Not quite to the best of my ability, as they say, but DH is wondering about his dinner and he's not well, poor soul ..........................grin

merlotgran Mon 01-Oct-12 18:39:55

Done it.

jeni Mon 01-Oct-12 18:48:05

I will not be distracted from my sacred mission to get a crescent moon on GN!

On the other hand I am very partial to sparklingwine?

jeni Mon 01-Oct-12 18:48:57

Preferably Landon black label!

jeni Mon 01-Oct-12 18:49:16

Lanson!

POGS Mon 01-Oct-12 21:46:44

Done.

Poor you lot looking at my sad life!

I'm not that boring really, honest.

Granny23 Mon 01-Oct-12 22:19:33

I have done the survey but found a couple of the questions difficult to answer. The one about attitudes to life over 50 was problematic because my targets and plans when I was 51 bear no resemblance to my current situation and outlook at 66. I was also unsure what to put in answer to the health question. I consider myself to be in relatively good health for my age because I do not have one SERIOUS condition, but rather four less serious things which when combined DO influence what I can or cannot do. And that is not even thinking about the things I have had since I was young -low blood pressure, migraine, hayfever which I take for granted. I think this may well be the case for most older people - a relatively minor illness can be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Ana Mon 01-Oct-12 22:45:08

I don't think it's worth stressing about - it's only a survey, and a general overview is what they're looking for. BTW I do think income is relevant in a survey of this kind, ninathenana, for the same reason.

JO4 Mon 01-Oct-12 22:47:48

I think you might be over-thinking it Granny23. grin

They are probably hoping we are all rich so that advertisers will be encouraged onto the site.

JO4 Mon 01-Oct-12 22:48:27

I expect to win the Ecover gift box. hmm

Greatnan Mon 01-Oct-12 22:51:17

I expect to win nothing! I did it as well as I could, but some questions are not relevant for expats, and I consider my life to be one long holiday!
I have suggested we need 'delete' and 'edit' buttons.

Ana Mon 01-Oct-12 23:14:07

I can't see why we'd need a 'delete' button, but have included 'edit' along with my 'more emoticons' request.

Greatnan Mon 01-Oct-12 23:36:46

Some people might regret posting something and wish to remove it.

Nelliemoser Mon 01-Oct-12 23:38:48

I got to bottom and as I realised they wanted my details and email address, I left that blank. There were a lot of questions there that suggested to me that if I gave my details I would become a target for advertisers. I would rather not bother with prizes than be inundated with adverts.

Greatnan Tue 02-Oct-12 07:00:37

It does say that no individual details will be passed to third parties, and I trust them!

Nanadogsbody Tue 02-Oct-12 07:35:08

Done it.
granny23 my blood pressure is always low eg 119/60 last reading, but I took that as a good thing. ????
What does a crescent moon signify? hmm

Frankel Tue 02-Oct-12 07:38:37

I think Gransnet already has our alias and e-mail address, doesn't it? I tended to skip very personal details. I hope it doesn't preclude me winning free tickets to Gransnight at Stringfellows.

JO4 Tue 02-Oct-12 09:10:36

A crescent moon would mean night night, sleep tight.

Edit and delete buttons would get us in a right old pickle!

JosieGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 02-Oct-12 09:52:44

Nelliemoser your details will never be passed on to anyone without your express permission. For more info, take a look at our privacy policy.

For this survey, we're just trying to get as clear a picture as possible of who uses Gransnet so that we can make the site as useful and enjoyable for everyone as possible.

Oh, and jeni, we found a picture of you grin

GeraldineGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 02-Oct-12 09:57:21

Just to reiterate, there are some jolly nice prizes.

And here they are:

An overnight stay in a Luxury Family Hotel for 2 adults and 2 children worth £300

Two Elemis Pro-intense products worth £113

A Fortnum and Mason hamper worth £100

Theatre Token pack worth £57

Usborne Books goody bag worth £60

Chocolate from Montezuma's worth £80

Ecover hamper worth £50

Halos N Horns bath products worth £57

Someone has to win them.... sunshine wine

NannaB Tue 02-Oct-12 10:27:45

I have just spent a good 20 mins filling the census form in and the sight crashed. Haven't the inclination to do it all again! Sorry Gransnet

glammanana Tue 02-Oct-12 11:19:14

All done

Barrow Tue 02-Oct-12 11:35:41

Done. I see the top prize is a stay in a hotel for two adults and two children. This is a bit off-putting for those who are alone (I assume there would be no cash equivalent!). I'm sure I won't win the top prize but I think a little more thought could have been put into the top prize. In my own case, I am a widow, have no children, and all my friends and family have partners - so that prize would be of little use to me! I think there will be a number of people on here who are widowed.

jeni Tue 02-Oct-12 11:36:16

grin for the picture. I wish my bosom was that firm and I was that slim!
