Certainly not Soop - a person doesn't have to have a chip on their shoulder to express an opinion - I just like to stir things up occasionallyand it would appear I have been successful. LOL.

soop Fri 05-Oct-12 16:38:37

Very funny hmm

PatriciaC Fri 05-Oct-12 16:53:56

Mamie, I think we skip these questions if we live abroad, not the other way round.

Mamie Fri 05-Oct-12 17:24:08

Yes that is my point, I do live abroad, but can vote and buy UK publications!

MaggieP Fri 05-Oct-12 18:21:44

PatriciaC, what is wrong with middle class and how can you say complacent, what do you know about everyone else or are you writing from experience ?

Greatnan Sat 06-Oct-12 15:23:07

Now isn't there a special word for people who go on to forums and post just to stir things up? Bored? No, that's not it.............

soop Sat 06-Oct-12 15:34:30

Two minds thinking alike, Greatnan...can't bring that word to mind, hard as I try wink

Ella46 Sat 06-Oct-12 15:38:29

Surely we don't get people like that on Gransnet? wink

soop Sat 06-Oct-12 16:01:54

Titters behind hand...eyes rolling emoticon.

glassortwo, we have many, many thousands of members, and we get many, many hundreds of thousands of page views a month. But it's not enough! Tell your friends.

J04 don't know the latest on how many have filled it in - waiting for an update from the Insight team - but it's not enough either! If you haven't done it yet, everyone, please do.

It's important because it helps us to respond better to requests and to work out what would make good competition prizes and gives us a sense of what issues gransnetters care about. It should help us to survive and prosper and be more useful - and if we repeat it in a couple of years, it should give us a sense of how Gransnet has grown and what has changed in women's lives - which again, will help us to be more helpful and (let's get our priorities straight here) fun. wine

janeainsworth Mon 08-Oct-12 12:11:15

Hey Geraldine!
You didn't answer my question. Will you publish the results?

merlotgran Mon 08-Oct-12 15:48:28

Crumbs! Many, many thousands of members? They steer clear of us lot on here then. hmm

gramps Mon 08-Oct-12 22:17:36

How many men are regular readers - apart from me and my mate Pete?

Greatnan Tue 09-Oct-12 08:48:59

All my expat forums give the number of members, and the number of members on-line, at the foot of the page. I would find that interesting.

glassortwo Wed 10-Oct-12 08:39:47

Geraldine we must have lots of lurkers then, I dont think we are that scary are we! shock

bikergran Wed 10-Oct-12 08:59:16

I have done the census smile

soop Wed 10-Oct-12 11:39:57

Completed it ages ago. Have had a bag packed in anticipation of a world cruise ever since. grin

baubles Wed 10-Oct-12 12:16:04

soop grin

MrsJamJam Fri 12-Oct-12 10:08:19

If there really are many thousands of us, how are we all going to fit on the world cruise? Are HQ building a very big boat? grin

MaryXYX Fri 12-Oct-12 14:14:56

re JO4: Annual Income. Look at your P60?

re jenni: Crescent Moon. I don't know what you use one for but now I want one too. Oh wait, MaggieP has one ...
moon

re Frankel: Gender. It does ask, but only allows the two most common choices.

re Granny23: Attitude at 51. I don't think mine was relevant to me now. At 60 my attitude was work until I drop because I don't have enough pension to survive. At 64 it's get out before the stress kills me. Anything else is subsidiary.

re (GCHQ) oops sorry (GNHQ): uh uh, it's the feds. If I were to win the first prize I expect I would be able to find someone in the tribe who could use it. The second prize is products from a company I haven't heard of. I could certainly make good use of chocolates and other goodies!

re PatriciaC: "Complacent and very middle class". I guess I'll be expelled pretty soon then!

jeni Fri 12-Oct-12 15:09:58

What world cruise? Where? When?

Please note folks I'm jeni not jenni. I was born during rationing and only got one n. I didn't get an e in Ann eithersad
Mind you, it could have been that my infant teacher mother (trained at avery hill) was dyslexic?
But I don't think so!confused
