This morning I signed in, read a pm, started looking at the forums, tried to post on one of them and was told that I had to log in with a valid user name etc. I tried repeatedly to log in and kept getting a message that I didn't understand – something about URL and the server not finding it. Just when I was about to give up, it all turned okay again.

I've had problems with the Gransnet website on my laptop. message saying server not accepting URL. However iPad can connect.

Same as Jodi. I'm on an iPad.

I think if you press a comment box, jodi, it will just take you to the end of the thread to make a comment, so you don't have to scroll.

You can also 'flip' the thread to get to the last post. And then there's "show all". I never use next, previous and last.

I think I tried a couple of times but they didn't work properly.

But if you press a comment box at the beginning of the thread, you won't have read most of the posts...confused

Doesn't matter if you're only replying to the last one.

I mean the first one. Except, I don't, because I have the last post at the top IYSWIM.

Thanks for tips. I like to read what's gone before if possible but will try these. I'm on an iPad too MiceElf hmm

Another thing you can do, which reduces the number of pages on a long thread, is to maximise the number of posts per page. To do that, go to "Customise" at the top of the thread and you can choose to see up to 100 posts on one page. I think the default is set to 25.
