Can you sort that Mumsnet lot out please.

They've deleted a thread we were working out perfectly well ourselves.

Galen no! Really?!

j08 Wed 03-Apr-13 18:45:45

I think they are trying to encourage us to preview before posting. Can't imagine why.

Ana Wed 03-Apr-13 18:49:14

Well, I like it. But I do wish the lilac went to the end of the Message banner...

I had never noticed that before! #fussypants. shock wink

It's not fussy, it's unfinished.

If the GNHQ are playing with their paintboxes could they sort out the hard to distinguish Blue from Black font colour where there are links in a thread? Please!

GeraldineGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 04-Apr-13 13:05:27

Nellie we would like to be able to do something about this. Are there any sites you know of where links work for you? - it is a question of making the links a different colour, probably, but one that doesn't make the page swim in front of your eyes (which my hunch is say red, might do - especially on a content page, as opposed to a forum page).

Ana Thu 04-Apr-13 13:11:28

Geraldine, it's not just nellie! A lot of us have trouble sometimes distinguishing the 'link' word in a sentence as the blue is so similar to the black. Almost any colour would be better - green for example!

janeainsworth Thu 04-Apr-13 13:11:56

geraldine can't you use the bright blue which appears in emails when you put in a hyperlink?
And while you're there, I noticed two threads have been deleted this week, one at the OPs request to protect privacy, and the other for no reason given.
It's kind of annoying when you have been following something and then the whole thread vanishes without explanation.

Thats not bad jingle three testers for £1. wink

Think red would be better, I can never see the blue links either.
I dont like the off centre mauve on the message box, just not pleasingto the eye is it.

Jane, appreciate this is infuriating and I'm not sure which threads you're referring to - but we hate deleting threads and we always think very carefully.

The main two reasons (not saying this was the case here) are that the OP regrets revealing something/realises they have exposed something that could identify them, or that we have had so many complaints that it makes more sense to delete the entire thread.

A few times we have had threads which have been started with malign intent.

But it's really not something we do lightly.

On the blue links issue - tech are looking at this. A bit overwhelmed with local launch but it's still very much on the list.

I have gone back to the old format this morning ? gremlins in the area I think.Post/preview message now back to side by side.confused

j08 Fri 05-Apr-13 11:11:13

I think a nice bright emerald green. (green for "go", see?)

The ideal would be a symbol to show a link is there. Perhaps a finger. Pointing. Or clicking.

I suggested green, too. Anything's got to be better than that dull blue...

shysal Fri 05-Apr-13 12:13:42

If it was also in a different font it would help.
