Can you sort that Mumsnet lot out please.

They've deleted a thread we were working out perfectly well ourselves.

j07 Fri 18-Jan-13 17:24:30

Which thread has been deleted, been away for a couple of hours and all hell lets loose whats going on.

Sel Fri 18-Jan-13 19:37:43

Here here, this is ridiculous. What is the point of taking the time to write and post if there is a decision made, arbitarely, to delete a whole thread. This is a commercial enterprise, without the members, Gransnet doesn't exist. Hardly a democratic site, seemingly. If one member has a problem with something, then bring it out. Just deleting a thread is quite pathetic.

Ana Fri 18-Jan-13 19:45:21

To be fair, Sel, this doesn't usually happen, which is why it's causing such consternation. It used to be rare for a thread to be deleted, and if there was a reason GNHQ would let us know in advance, before they actually deleted it.

I don't know what's going on at the moment with MNHQ's intervention. (Mumsnet)

absent Fri 18-Jan-13 19:52:14

I have to say that we have had much more robust threads than the two that have just been deleted without any interference from GNHQ. Given that one of them was concerning itself with mixed metaphors not even related to the OP, I find the decision to delete unfathomable. Of course, mums are used to dealing with children and it's likely that many of us have experienced that unbeilevable moment when a daughter treats us like a child. Mumsnet HQ is just doing the same with Gransnet – it's forgotten who it's dealing with.

glassortwo Fri 18-Jan-13 19:53:31

Which threads have been deleted? Anybody?????

Bags Fri 18-Jan-13 19:55:30

I read one, glass, but I've already forgotten what it was about. That's how important it was wink. Dinnae fash yersel, hen.

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 19:57:17

Favourite colours and apologise

Sel Fri 18-Jan-13 20:05:19

Jeni you should have just stuck to 'pink' grin

Notsogrand Fri 18-Jan-13 20:16:24

What's the Mumsnet connection to deleted threads? Has someone from Mumsnet complained about something on Gransnet?

absent Fri 18-Jan-13 20:17:40

Notso It appears that Mumsnet HQ deleted the two threads. I don't know where Gransnet HQ is but clearly not on top of things.

Sel Fri 18-Jan-13 20:22:04

I believe they're owned by the same company smile Maybe there's staff issues because of the snow

Notsogrand Fri 18-Jan-13 20:22:20

Excuse me? Has that been confirmed? That's appalling!

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 20:26:34

sel I don't like pink. For me blue is perfection. I have to make an effort NOT TO BUY BLUE.sad

jeni Fri 18-Jan-13 20:29:18

Oh! And incidentally I posted a thread called Avatar some time ago, I think last year in which I imagined myself in avatar land and wrote the poetry.
I occasionally return there when I'm 'blue' in my imagination.

gracesmum Fri 18-Jan-13 20:30:41

Bit of a pinkist opinion, sel? grin Personally I like red.

GeraldineGransnet (GNHQ) Fri 18-Jan-13 20:31:10

Apologies for the fact that a gremlin crept in and mentioned The Other Place.

We did delete a couple of threads - one because it appeared to be poking fun at a particular poster, the other because another poster was the subject of a personal attack.

Right, back to the colours.... Tonight, we will be mostly wearing pink (pyjamas) wine

gracesmum Fri 18-Jan-13 20:31:59

Sorry - that was directed to jeni!
I just know I have seen enough white today to last me a while smile

Lilygran Fri 18-Jan-13 20:37:56

I'm so glad the playground supervisor is on the ball. Does every thread where someone feels belittled get deleted? Oh, no, it doesn't, does it?
