I believe they're owned by the same company smile Maybe there's staff issues because of the snow

Notso It appears that Mumsnet HQ deleted the two threads. I don't know where Gransnet HQ is but clearly not on top of things.

What's the Mumsnet connection to deleted threads? Has someone from Mumsnet complained about something on Gransnet?

Which threads have been deleted? Anybody?????

absent Fri 18-Jan-13 19:52:14

I have to say that we have had much more robust threads than the two that have just been deleted without any interference from GNHQ. Given that one of them was concerning itself with mixed metaphors not even related to the OP, I find the decision to delete unfathomable. Of course, mums are used to dealing with children and it's likely that many of us have experienced that unbeilevable moment when a daughter treats us like a child. Mumsnet HQ is just doing the same with Gransnet – it's forgotten who it's dealing with.

To be fair, Sel, this doesn't usually happen, which is why it's causing such consternation. It used to be rare for a thread to be deleted, and if there was a reason GNHQ would let us know in advance, before they actually deleted it.

I don't know what's going on at the moment with MNHQ's intervention. (Mumsnet)

Here here, this is ridiculous. What is the point of taking the time to write and post if there is a decision made, arbitarely, to delete a whole thread. This is a commercial enterprise, without the members, Gransnet doesn't exist. Hardly a democratic site, seemingly. If one member has a problem with something, then bring it out. Just deleting a thread is quite pathetic.

Which thread has been deleted, been away for a couple of hours and all hell lets loose whats going on.
